Job Summary:

The Director of Community and Residential Services participates in the development, implementation, operation, and ongoing quality improvement of ACCS service delivery; promoting innovation and operational excellence, driving clinical and financial performance, and developing relationships and resources which support effective and efficient services via direct oversight of designated ACCS teams. The Director of Community and Residential Services contributes to Bay Cove's Mission by ensuring that the services provided by ACCS are clinically-robust, recovery-oriented, and empower Persons to achieve wellness in all its dimensions.

This is an exempt position.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Integrated Team Directors, Floating Lead Engagement Partners, and Floating Program Managers as assigned
  • Other roles as determined by the Senior ACCS Director and/or the Vice President of Mental Health Community Services

Essential Functions of the Position:

* Assist the Senior ACCS Director in the implementation of the clinical, financial, and administrative operations of ACCS via direct oversight of the Integrated Teams, ensuring that the work environment and services provided are respectful, trauma-informed, clinically-robust, and recovery-oriented.
* Collaborate with the Bay Cove Talent Acquisition Department to ensure that teams and residences are fully staffed with a diverse pool of competent staff who are ready and able to partner with Persons to achieve their goals.
* Collaborate with the Service Director of Recovery and Clubhouse Services to ensure clinical and recovery-oriented principles are fully integrated within the provision of ACCS.
* Provide leadership and supervision to Integrated Team Directors (ITDs), Floating Lead Engagement Partners, Floating Program Managers, and other roles as assigned by establishing performance expectations; coaching, developing, and evaluating performance to enable supervisees to be successful in contributing to the achievement of individual, ACCS, and agency objectives, and by taking disciplinary actions when needed.
* Provide clinical consultation to teams in regards to treatment and intervention recommendations as needed based on heightened acuity, high risk, or complex service needs.
* Monitor that teams are consistently meeting contractual expectations and when not in compliance, assist ITDs to identify and implement corrective action plans, and monitor team progress toward compliance, in the following areas:
Documentation of clinical and risk assessments, development of appropriate safety, clinical risk response and treatment plans;
Selection and implementation of clinical interventions designed to assist Persons to maintain community tenancy and move toward greater independence;
Responsive adjustment of the frequency, duration, and types of supports to suit Persons' changing needs, interests, and preferences;
Collaboration with the Persons' extended treatment team, identified and authorized natural supports, and Care Coordination Entities in order to best support Persons;
Operation of sites in compliance with all state, federal, DMH, and Bay Cove regulations and requirements and that agency and regulatory standards are met and maintained, including inter-agency QA audits, DMH licensing, and MAP reviews; and
Provision of accurate programmatic documentation such as time sheets, fire drills, incident reports, transportation logs, daily logs, service notes, safety plans, and any other documentation assigned.
* Provide on-call coverage for clinical or administrative emergencies on a rotational basis.
* Utilize recovery-oriented language and principles in all communication and interactions with Persons, colleagues, and collaterals.
* Other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements for the Position:

* Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related field required.
* LICSW, LCSW, LMHC, or other behavioral health category which qualifies as Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts required and at least five years post-licensure experience working in mental health services required.
* At least 10 years of progressive clinical experience in a range of residential, therapeutic & experiential learning and community-based treatment environments required.
* Experience working in, or managing, residential treatment settings preferred.
* At least 5 years experience providing clinical and administrative supervision to direct care staff and clinicians required.
* Solid understanding of clinical and recovery principles.
* Strong commitment to the right of each Person with mental health challenges to live in community residences, to work in market jobs, and to have access to helpful, adequate, competent, and continuous support and services of their own choosing.
* Professional writing and oral communications skills.
* High degree of personal organization, attention to detail, and time management skills.
* Proficiency in word processing and other computer functions using Windows, Word, and Google Email and Apps.
* Use of personal cellular telephone for work communication.
* Ability to go up and down stairs to monitor clients on multiple floors and physical capacity to assist people with mobility impairments as needed.
