Engineering and Quality Manager

Wilmington, Delaware

Our client, a Biotechnology firm located in Wilmington, Delaware, is seeking an Engineering and Quality Manager to lead their team. Focused on separation products in the growing pharmaceutical and biotechnology areas of drug discovery and development, the firms primary products are in the field of High- Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) columns. This Engineer and Quality leader will drive this growing team to the next level of engineering discipline and maturity. This position will report to the President, and they will be empowered to drive positive change within the organization. This position is designed to drive a culture of quality systems, methodologies (ex: SPC discipline and usage, LEAN, 5S, Control Planning, etc.) and to instill a mindset of sound engineering and continuous improvement throughout our organization. This position will operate within the manufacturing organization, but they will work with personnel at all levels and cross-functionally throughout the organization. The ideal candidate would have complete grasp of the fundamentals of this field, excited about the opportunity to spread these ideas and champion our pursuit of continuous improvement.

  • Experience supervising and managing teams
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering
  • Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years of operations or manufacturing technical experience required.
  • Six Sigma Training Certification (Green Belt or higher desired)
  • Requires knowledge of Lean, 5S, QMS, and Quality Management methodologies
  • Knowledge and proficiency with ISO 9001 standards is highly desired
  • Experience with automation is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of silica manufacturing desirable
