Are you ready to play a pivotal role in a thriving Private Equity-backed company on the brink of significant growth? About the Role: Reporting directly to the CFO, the Corporate Controller is crucial to our company's future success. You'll gain exposure to all business aspects, interact heavily with the Board and PE team, and be an integral part of the senior management team.
Position Summary: As the Corporate Controller, you'll provide financial analysis, develop and maintain accounting processes, and prepare accurate and timely financial reports. This hands-on role involves closing the books, completing account analysis, and making journal entries. As a key member of the Executive Team, you'll ensure we can sustainably support our mission while leading the accounting team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Month-End Close: Complete month-end close procedures, including preparing journal entries with supporting documentation.
- KPI & Financial Reporting: Develop and prepare monthly KPI and financial reports for internal and external use.
- Manage A/P and A/R: Oversee day-to-day functions of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Internal Controls: Establish effective internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Budgeting Support: Assist with the annual budgeting process.
- Financial Audits: Lead the annual financial audit.
- Acquisition Accounting: Manage acquisition accounting and opening balance sheets.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and filings.
- Tax Reporting: Coordinate and manage annual tax reporting with tax CPAs.
- Executive Leadership: Engage in frequent open dialogue and exchange of ideas with the CEO, Leadership Team, and Board of Advisors.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as requested.
Qualifications:
- Dynamic Leadership: Hands-on, team-oriented, energetic leader who regularly interacts with other functions to provide support and analysis.
- Experience: 5+ years of successful managerial experience leading accounting and finance functions, preferably in public accounting, contract controller, or internal accounting roles.
- Expertise: Knowledge of accrual accounting processes and procedures, state and federal tax laws, and strong working knowledge of GAAP.
- Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA and/or MBA designations are a plus.
- Skills: Proficient in accounting software (preferably QuickBooks), strong Excel skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Attributes: Strong analytical mindset, impeccable integrity, and a strong work ethic.
- Bonus: Private Equity experience is a plus.
