We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to join our corporate finance team, reporting directly to the CFO. The Controller will play a critical role in overseeing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budgeting, and development of internal control policies and procedures. This individual will ensure accuracy, transparency, and compliance with financial regulations across all operational levels, from clinic performance to corporate financial health. (Remote Candidates are not being considered)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead and oversee the company's accounting operations, including the preparation of financial statements, general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other financial reporting activities.

Manage and streamline internal accounting processes to ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.

Develop and implement policies to enhance financial controls and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with the CFO on the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting to support strategic business decisions.

Provide analysis of financial performance, identifying trends, and delivering insights to senior management.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements, filing financial reports and tax filings.

Partner with internal departments to manage intercompany transactions, ensure revenue recognition, and oversee cash flow management.

Support mergers and acquisitions activities, including financial due diligence and integration efforts.

Coordinate external audit activities and serve as the primary contact for auditors.

Develop and maintain financial dashboards for tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) across the organization.

Evaluate and improve accounting systems and technologies in coordination with the IT team.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a thorough understanding of accounting software platforms (Sage Intacct); Microsoft Excel (F9 or similar add-in a plus), Power point, and Microsoft Word. Additionally, a comprehensive understanding of practice management software (Advanced MD) is a plus.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, with 8-10+ years of progressive experience with accrual-based accounting.
  • CPA or CMA
  • Eight plus (8+) years of hands-on experience in accounting and reporting with US GAAP, in public accounting
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and ability to accurately apply and use financial and accounting concepts.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities, preferably within healthcare, private equity-backed companies, or multi-site operations.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and financial reporting software, Sage Intact experience highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement and implementation of financial controls.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to present complex financial data in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and work collaboratively across departments.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, Index/Match formulas, financial modeling, etc.). Experience with other Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Excellent attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment with a strong customer-service orientation
  • Strong delegation skills and Ability to use good judgment
