POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Team Lead on the Platform Team, you will work and manage a team of developers that push our software stack forward to improve the lives of other Software Engineers at Alarm.com. Our software development includes working on the core infrastructure, systems, and tooling that enables Alarm.com developers to deliver best-in-class smart home solutions.

You will have the opportunity to manage projects that span a variety of technical areas while also managing a team of 5-7 software engineers, provide technical mentorship to the developers on your team, deliver projects, set project timelines, and generate work for your team. Typical projects will involve diverse technologies. You'll have the opportunity to work across various technical areas using the latest technologies. Strong multi-tasking skills and the ability to self-learn are must-have attributes.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years of professional software development experience
  • 3+ years of professional experience managing and mentoring a team of developers/ engineers
  • Strong object-oriented programming skills; C# a plus
  • Experience with container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with Web Development; Ember.js knowledge a plus
  • Experience developing scalable service-oriented architectures.
  • Experience with CI/CD build systems a plus
  • Experience with database design and development a plus
  • Ability to communicate effectively with engineers and non-engineers across different teams.
  • Proven track record delivering large-scale, cross-functional projects on time and in a high-quality manner, exploring technical feasibility and prioritization tradeoffs as well as process improvements along the way.
