Provide supporting financial schedules to management, lending institutions and external auditors upon request to maintain accurate overview of company’s financials. Support the Company’s quarterly and annual earnings releases and SEC reporting processes. Duties will include: Assist with preparation of monthly financial reports and statements in conjunction with month-end close processes [balance sheet, income statement, equity roll forward, statement of cash] Aid in the monthly consolidation process as it relates to the closing of the general ledger/journal entries On a quarterly and annual basis, assist with preparation of the Earning Release documents, 10-K and 10-Q financial statements, footnotes and tie-ins; extensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) electronic tagging of company’s SEC filings Assist in preparation of various quarterly and annual reports and census required by the U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. Department of Treasury and coal industry associations Assist in the administration and maintenance of the SAP consolidation and reporting system Provide supporting schedules to assist external auditors in conducting audits Special projects as assigned About you: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field A minimum of one year of relevant work experience required, public accounting experience preferred Demonstrated problem solving skills to quickly and effectively resolve issues Completion of the CPA exam preferred, but not required Experience with enterprise accounting systems required, SAP preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel Financial Accounting and reporting knowledge and experience, i.e. principles of consolidation and financial statement preparation Familiarity with SEC reporting requirements preferred, but not required Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Knowledge of general ledger and financial reporting systems Excellent spoken and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact at all levels Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects simultaneously Excellent organizational and time management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize work assignments and work under pressure and tight deadlines, when necessary Physical Requirements: Must have the ability to perform office-related tasks which may include prolonged sitting or standing Must have the ability to move from place to place within an office environment Must be able to use a computer Must have the ability to communicate effectively Some positions may require occasional repetitive motion or movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers About Peabody: Peabody is a leading coal producer, providing essential products for the production of affordable, reliable energy & steel.
