Join our dedicated and energetic team of Educators as a Therapist in our Raymond Hill School. The Raymond Hill School serves elementary, middle, and high school students in need of specialized services delivered in an environment of safety and caring. This is a full time 10 month position with full benefits.

Under the administrative direction of the Senior Director of Education and the clinical supervision of the RHS Clinical Supervisor, plans and monitors the implementation of treatment for the assigned students within a model of treatment established by Klingberg Policies and Procedures and by the Individual Education Plan established by the local education agency; coordinates education staff in their implementation of treatment with day students; and maintains direct clinical responsibilities for a group of children in treatment.

Capabilities required:

Sound understanding of the assessment and clinical treatment of a population of children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral difficulties and their families, combined with the following: An ability to facilitate multidisciplinary treatment teams; an awareness of the psychology of individuals and the dynamics of families and groups; consistent application of sound judgment; ability to affirm the philosophies, policies, goals and heritage of the agency and of the department.

Use of capabilities:
  1. Conducts clinical preplacement interview to determine appropriateness for Klingberg Family Centers.
  2. Completes psychosocial assessment and initial treatment plan within timeframes described in agency policy/procedure.
  3. Formulates Master Treatment Plan when indicated for specific students within timeframes described in agency policy/procedure.
  4. Provides individual, group and family therapy to assigned cases as clinically indicated.
  5. Makes referrals to and collaborates with psychiatric, psychological, medical, and legal professionals as needed.
  6. Writes weekly progress notes on each student.
  7. Writes Treatment Reviews for assigned students at intervals described in Master Treatment Plans or at mid-year and year-end.
  8. Leads/co-lead regularly scheduled group therapy sessions and psychoeducation groups for students and/or parents as appropriate.
  9. Initiates and facilitates Case Reviews as needed.
  10. Provides crisis intervention services to students.
  11. Works collaboratively with Department of Children and Families and other legal/social service agencies involved with the client and family.
  12. Provides clinical consultation to education staff on assigned students.
  13. Attends Planning and Placement Team (PPT) meetings for assigned students and assures inclusion in Individualized Education Program (IEP) behavioral and social-emotional goals, as appropriate.
  14. Collaborates with, and provides support and development to agency staff, and provides program enhancement and clinical training when indicated.
  15. Formulates aftercare plan with student, family and other care providers and completes Discharge Summary within timeframes described in agency policy/procedure.

Education/Experience requirements:

Master's Degree in social work or related field and Connecticut State Department of Education certification required; Connecticut State mental health licensure and 2-4 years supervised experience in individual, group, and family therapy preferred. Acquisition and maintenance of certifications in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and CPR/First Aid required.

Duration: 10 Months with the option to work the 5 week Extended School Year Program in July for additional compensation.
