Commercial General Contractor

Are you an experienced Estimator looking for a new opportunity in Austin, Texas? Our client, a premier Commercial General Contractor based in Austin, specializes in a variety of commercial projects including ground-up offices, leisure centers, K-12 schools, and healthcare facilities. They are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Estimator to join their team and contribute to their continued success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects, including ground-up offices, leisure centers, K-12 schools, and healthcare facilities.
  • Bid Preparation: Develop comprehensive bid proposals. Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
  • Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination: Solicit and review bids from subcontractors and suppliers. Evaluate their proposals for accuracy and completeness.
  • Project Analysis: Conduct detailed quantity take-offs. Utilize estimating software to prepare and manage estimates.
  • Budget Management: Assist in the development and management of project budgets. Monitor project costs and work closely with project managers to ensure financial objectives are met.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and comprehensive project estimates.
  • Market Research: Stay current with industry trends, materials costs, and construction methods to ensure estimates are accurate and competitive.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and challenges in the preconstruction phase and provide recommendations to mitigate them.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of estimating experience in the construction industry, preferably in Austin.
  • Proven experience with commercial projects, including ground-up offices, leisure centers, K-12 schools, and healthcare facilities.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in preparing cost estimates.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
