Parts Advisor Essential Job Functions
  • Assists all internal and external customer in-person or via phone in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional and efficient manner.
  • Pulls and fills orders from stock.
  • Notifies parts manager of out-of-stock parts that need immediate attention; Locates out of stock parts from outside source and submits an emergency order if necessary.
  • Replenishes assigned inventory daily.
  • Makes sure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair order.
  • Receives payment from retail customers or obtains credit authorization.
  • Issues and tracks requested shop tools to technicians.
  • Required to post lost sales.
  • Proactively communicate potential issues with customers, management and other departments in order to provide the best possible customer experience.
  • Abide by company policy and departmental best practices and procedure and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Prior to being employed, applicants for employment must participate in RBM's normal screening process which includes: completing a full employment application; satisfactory criminal, credit and driving records checks (where applicable); in-person interviews and other inquiries.
  • High school diploma or the equivalent and be authorized to work in the USA for any employer.
  • Previous experience working in a similar role required.
  • Basic communication and problem solving skills; basic mathematical skills using American units of measure.
  • Physical activities include: remain stationary for long periods of time, operate office equipment, and repetitive motion. When working at the Parts Counter physical activities include: constantly position body and move in order to handle inventory and complete job duties; detect and identify safety concerns; exert force to move/manipulate objects (up to 100lbs occasionally, 65lbs frequently, 25lbs constantly). Work is conducted inside, outside, and in a shop environment in proximity to moving vehicles, mechanical equipment, with occasional exposure to chemicals, and moderate to loud noise levels.
