POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for performing a variety of functions in Credit Services with the Client Support team. Duties to include, but not limited to, providing excellent customer service to internal and external clients pertaining to commercial, consumer, home equity, mortgages, and credit reserve loans. Also responsible or back up for balancing general ledgers, posting loan payments, processing fees, and researching loan inquiries. Responsible for booking new loans on the Silverlake system in a timely manner. Perform loan modifications, renewals, and extensions as needed. Respond to service events with complete follow-up.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Including, but not limited to, the following:
  • Responds to client inquires, received through various channels in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Monitors and regularly reports outstanding loans in process (LIP), by established timeframes, to management and internal clients.
  • Inputs new loans daily into the servicing system using proper codes, clearly identifying loan types, and balancing receipt of all monetary amounts collected at closing within the established timeframes.
  • Inputs loan modifications, renewals and extensions daily within the established timeframes assuring proper changes to required fields.
  • Verifies and processes payoff amounts in loan system for items received.
  • Prepares and distributes cashier checks to clients with a loan payoff overpayment. Ensures the check amount is held for appropriate time limit.
  • Researches and resolves loan problems, including but not limited to, rate issues, reapplication of transactions and refunding of overpayments. Resolution may require interaction with additional client support personnel.
  • Researches and responds to internal client billing questions by reviewing loan payment records and/or recalculating accrued interest or late fees, utilizing loan histories, reports and other necessary materials.
  • Adjusts loan amounts, clears balances and waives late charges under the specified amount, obtains approval for those requests which are outside the approval limit. Inputs monetary items, utilizing the loan system, as required.
  • Performs daily balancing and clearing of exceptions reported on the Loan Settlement general ledger.
  • Researches and resolves daily loan unposted transactions. Retrieves document images of all unposted transactions for audit control.
  • Researches and balances all General Ledger accounts that Credit Services is responsible for maintaining.
  • Pulls and processes all loan files paid out on the system. Verifies the collateral can be released or has to be maintained due to cross collateralization. Retrieves and images documents to be cancelled for retention.
  • Distributes to customers the cancelled documents after they have been returned from the authority authorizing cancellation.
  • Prepares lost note and certificates of satisfaction on deeds of trust after verification of loan status.
  • Represents Credit Services team on special projects, conversion issues and meetings to ensure the departmental role is properly represented.
  • Assist bank examiners and auditors in locating information needed during their review.
  • Perform various additional duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Education and/or Experience
  • Associate's Degree (AA) in a business-related field from a two (2) year college or equivalent combination of related work experience and education is preferred.
  • Two (2) years prior work experience in Credit Operations to include commercial and/or consumer real estate transactions. Five (5) years of Credit Services or accounting experience is preferred.
Skills/Specialized Knowledge
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication and client service skills to effectively deal with internal and external vendors/clients.
  • Basic computer skills, including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheets, templates and other database/system applications, 10-key and keyboarding skills are required.
  • Ability to research and solve complex problems/issues that arise within standardized/non-standardized products and deal with a variety of more complex situations as they relate to these products with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a project team environment to develop and document procedures is required.
  • Ability to handle numerous assignments of a complex nature simultaneously with "quick" response.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions and procedures of standardized situations.

  • Travel : Must be available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as the employer determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
  • Regulatory Compliance : Be knowledgeable and comply with all regulations, policies and procedures relating to the Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, USA Patriot Act, Privacy Act and how to recognize and report suspicious activity. Failure to comply with all components of these Acts could result in personal, civil money penalties and/or criminal prosecution.
