Position Summary:
Develop and improve various manufacturing processes for the gearing business based on product design & latest machining equipment, tools, and technologies, working closely with product design engineers, sourcing, quality, vendors, subcontractors and machine manufacturers.Creating CNC programs and setup documentation for all gearing parts machined in Florence. TheIdeal candidate is someone with experience in high mix, low volume manufacturing with a strong customer focused approach.
Major Responsibilities:
- Lead & Support standardization and complexity reduction in the operation
- Development of CNC programs, tooling, machine set ups, standard work, & standard operating procedures for CNC lathes (dual turret, live tooling) CNC vertical mills.
- Mazak, Fanuc, & Haas experience preferred
- Troubleshooting part quality issues for machined parts
- Assisting maintenance in the troubleshooting and diagnosis of machine tool issues
- Daily support of production operations within the site supporting line issues, Quick Response Quality Control (QRQC), and abnormalities to standard work
- Lead & Support Material Cost Out (MCO) and Variable Cost Productivity (VCP) projects.
- Participate and provide inputs in design reviews of New Product Development (NPD).
- Demonstrated understanding and application Kaizen, 5S, Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping, SMED, Line Balancing, Gemba and Structured Problem Solving in line with Regal Business System.
- Lead/support Continuous Improvement (CI) projects and Kaizen events.
- Evaluate & develop manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, machining, assembly, material flow, paint, tooling, and inspection; working with internal cross-functional team & equipment vendors; soliciting inputs from operators.
- Work with cross functional & leadership team towards achieving business objectives & financial targets by addressing/improving Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Growth (SQDCG).
- Follow Regal Rexnord Ethics, Safety, & Environmental Compliance Programs
- Adhere to all export, import and supply chain security policy requirements relevant to the position
- Perform other assignments as directed by manager
Required Education / Experience / Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical field. A two year engineering or technical degree and 5+ years of relevant and demonstrated work experience will be accepted in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum 5 years related work experience in an industrial/manufacturing company, preferably in machining and assembly industry with high mix and low volume
- Ability to review and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- CAD experience (SolidWorks and AutoCAD preferred)
- CAM experience (Esprit or Mastercam preferred)
- Ability to coordinate activities and influence others in a cross-functional environment
- Self-motivated, capable of working with minimal supervision
- Hands on oriented, being where the work is
- Undertake work in an efficient and timely manner
- Customer focus
- Proficient use of computers and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with Oracle or equivalent ERP system is a plus
- Lean or Lean, Six Sigma Certification Preferred (Yellow or Green Belt)
- Good project management skills a plus
- Material flow and logistics skills a plus
- Industrial painting experience a plus
