JOB SUMMARY:

The successful candidate will support Sales and Marketing initiatives by overseeing and managing an extensive Live Goods Merchandising Program and other pertinent facets of the business through the Home Center retail channels. The role of the District Manager - Merchandising is to travel to stores specific to their region and assume leadership role for implementing merchandising standards and guidelines at store level that are consistent with company's standards and directives.

Develop and manage budgets, seasonal merchandisers, regional managers and seasonal inventory requirements. This will require a strong attention to detail, project management skills, and the ability to balance several initiatives at the same time. This individual will lead innovation, drive speed & execution, champion change, maximize talent, and deliver profitable growth.

JOB DUTIES:

• Candidate will drive the following initiatives:
• Oversee and manage a Live Goods Field Merchandising Program through a team of managers, supervisors, and seasonal workers.
• Builds strong relationships with Home Depot personnel by employing the highest standards of professionalism and preserving the strategic business relationship as a supplier.
• Provide direction under the guidelines of Green Circle's management team in accordance to the needs of the Home Depot.
• Implement and maintain compliance with the Green Circle merchandising model and structure.
• Manage a budget that includes seasonal merchandisers, supervisors, and managers.
• Direct the execution of perfect service, ensure stores are set to schematic, display appropriate signage, maintain accurate inventories, and maintain high quality standards in the image of GCG.
• Embrace change with a positive attitude, offer suggestions for improvement to increase efficiency & effectiveness, support new initiatives, and maintain an open mind.
• Effectively and frequently communicates. Effectively communicates key business issues to senior management. Influences area merchandisers by establishing rapport and credibility based on strength of analysis, accuracy, and facts. Reviews that all staff verbal and written communication (including spreadsheets) is clear, concise and consistent. Communicate with GCG District Managers, HD Store Managers & HD District Managers on a regular basis providing standard reports, emailing pertinent updates, and reporting on store issues.
• Participate and attend internal and external Home Depot and Green Circle meetings.
• Proactively manages performance of staff members on a continual basis; sets high performance standards and provides feedback to subordinates about their performance. Accurately assesses individuals against performance standards; ensures that staff members clearly understand job expectations. Strengthens staff through continual training and development of merchandise control analysts and regional analysts.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent work experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including meeting facilitation and presentations.
• Strong project management skills, multi-tasking, and leadership that delivers results, success, and personnel development.
• Personal attributes would include the ability to be proactive in recognizing and solving problems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft applications including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
• Valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
