Special Tools Design Engineer_Innovation_MA Full-timeJob SummaryThe Design Engineer-Innovations- Special Tools position will be responsible for overseeing engineering design process and standardization of design elements. The products will encompass mechanical special service tools and equipment for automotive, commercial, and agricultural/off-road vehicles. The position is fully accountable for optimizing the design process, as well as ensuring adherence to global Bosch Engineering process. The position has responsibility for all engineering process and standardization document creation, coordination, and implementation in the department.Job Responsibility1. Participate in platform projects, utilizing project management skills and best engineering practices to meet project objectives:o Define the product concepts and enable visualization of ideas as CAD models.o Prepares product requirement documents for all new products, including engineering specifications and financial justification.o Shares responsibility with other functions in product development team to ensure that all considered products meet quality standards and that new product development schedule is met.o OEM Focus: Manage and optimize special tools designs for OEM customers, ensuring a comprehensive solution for the original automotive equipment market.o IAM Expansion: Lead efforts to expand special tool solutions for IAM customers, staying responsive to market demands and industry trends by developing state of art products.o EV Technology: Development of innovative special tools tailored for Electric Vehicles, reflecting Bosch's commitment to cutting-edge technology.2. Strategic Planning:o Alignment: Collaborate with the Global Product Engineering teams to align regional strategies with global objectives for both OEM and IAM segments.o EV Business Development: Spearhead product development initiatives in the Electric Vehicle sector, identifying opportunities and design of new products to serve EV market3. Relationship Management:o OEM Partnerships: Build and maintain strong relationships with OEM partners across the entire China region.o IAM Engagement: Develop and nurture relationships with IAM partners, including product manager and service centers.o EV Industry Collaboration: Foster partnerships and collaborations within the Electric Vehicle teams at Bosch's to support evolving market.o Technology Leadership: Development of innovative special tools, ensuring they meet the unique requirements of both traditional and Electric Vehicle applications. Work with the cross functional teams to identify new Bosch technology introductions based on specific market needs and/or new vehicle technology introductions including electric vehicles & fuel cell technologies.5. Drive process implementation in the team through coordination and trainings.:o Data Analysis: Analyze current process for tool development and propose ideas for improvement.o Develop new optimized steps in the current process to increase efficiency.6. Support production through continuous product engineering, problem solving, and warranty reduction.o Analyze field complaints and use Bosch problem solving techniques to resolve the issues.o Work with suppliers to improve their process and eliminate quality problems.7. Disciplinary Line Management:o Local Business Responsible: Exercise a disciplinary line to the local Business Responsible in Shanghai, ensuring alignment with Bosch's global objectives and standards.8. Compliance:o Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all Bosch special tools, whether for OEM, IAM, or EV applications, comply with relevant regulations and standards across the entire China region.9. Project management:o Lead local team for local or global special tool project developmentBachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or related Engineering discipline required.5+ years of relevant mechanical engineering work with exposure to engineering process and/or product standardization. Experience within the Automotive Industry preferred.3-D CAD and 2-D Technical Drawing Proficiency including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) - Solidworks preferred.Demonstrated design skills of mechanical structures and systems utilizing knowledge of similar product, conceptual layouts, and analysis.Ability to collaborate and build relationship with customer as well as internal team members.Understanding of the product development process, manufacturing methods and processes.Proficiency in PC skills; Microsoft OfficeTravel Frequency: National travel with high frequency#J-18808-Ljbffr
