Overview

The Senior Manager Email Marketing & Retention will lead the team responsible for the development, management, and optimization of BISSELL’s email program—including promotional and launch campaigns, automated/behavioral sends, and highly personalized journeys. This person will have a customer-first mindset, with a deep understanding of the end-to-end customer journey and will be responsible for understanding who our customer is, what drives their behavior, and how best to turn a customer into a passionate brand advocate. This role will provide an understanding and expertise of email marketing, segmentation, personalization, analytics, and marketing technology and the development and execution of campaigns that drive increased engagement and conversion across the various customer lifecycles.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement a comprehensive, best-in-class retention strategy with a primary focus on email marketing campaigns to engage, retain, and nurture existing customers. Manage a team of multiple direct reports Develop a testing framework and oversee implementation for our email communications to ensure continuous optimization Assist in the development of email lifecycle strategy and create the vision for future email programs Understand our prospect and customer database, identify gaps and opportunities to increase conversion through personalization within the email channel Develop segmentation strategies and maintain customer database health, integrity, and performance Ability to produce creative strategy across the prospect and customer lifecycle Partner closely with cross-functional partners across Product Marketing, Digital Marketing, Marketing Communications and our agency partners Supervise and analyze channel performance, conduct A/B testing Leverage Performance Data to drive decision making Provide recommendations based on trends and insights to Marketing, Product, and Design teams Formulate strategies to grow our email database and engagement

Business and/or Marketing Experience level:

8+ years of email marketing and/or eCommerce People management experience Preferred Experience / Education: Experience with marketing automation platforms and tools Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud a plus Proven expertise in creating marketing communications for internal/external audiences including business and communications plans, messaging frameworks and value propositions. Understanding of the prospect and customer lifecycle, and implementing/iterating on a plan to get results Ability to manage multiple tasks, react quickly and work under tight deadlines. Extremely organized and detail-oriented, along with the ability to think critically and solve problems Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities; data-driven thinking Comfortable participating in team meetings, providing a POV and following up on to-dos in a timely manner. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, flexible work environment Strong relationship building and communication skills within cross-functional teams Detail-oriented with extremely good follow-up High energy and solution-oriented – always looking to make improvements
