The Title Examiner title examiner locates and researches records of real estate ownership. This involves studying mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, plat books, maps, contracts and agreements. Title examiners are also responsible for knowing what legal instruments apply to a given estate, including taxes. All the documentation they review needs to be summarized, organized and filed for future reference.

Your Responsibilities on the Team
  • Duties include examining the chain of title and taxes of the company's title orders
  • Identifying and resolving title issues
  • Determining insurability and issuing title commitments and/or preliminary title reports
  • Updating and amending commitments and reports
  • Interacting with escrow team
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years experience in performing title examination on real property
  • Practical knowledge of Federal, State and local regulations and procedures governing real estate issues
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Land Records Information System and the ability to interpret data retrieval from computer system
  • Strong communication and writing skill set with knowledge of phraseology and terminology commonly used in title policy writing
Physical & Office/Site Presence Requirements:

Regular, in-person attendance at Company communities/job sites and offices during regular work hours is an essential function of this job. Requires the ability to work more than eight hours per day in the confined quarters of a construction trailer, the ability to operate a motor vehicle, read plans, climb stairs and ladders, bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and/or carry equipment which may be in excess of 50 pounds. Job may require occasional operation of construction equipment. Finger dexterity may be required to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.

General Overview of Compensation & Benefits:
We reasonably expect the base compensation offered for this position to range from an hourly rate of $24.82 - $42, subject to adjustment based on business-related factors such as employee qualifications, geographic pay differentials (e.g., cost of labor/living, etc.), and operational considerations.
