Description
Working collaboratively with team members, and under the direction of the General Manager, the guest service support role performs a variety of tasks related to guest experience, where daily activities focus on the functional operations of the front-of-house including host, food running, bussing, and takeout, dependent on the location's needs or shift. The primary objective of the role is to be guest-facing representatives who work to ensure that guests have an enjoyable stay from start to finish. This role participates in the taproom's tip pool.

- Supervise and lead assigned positions in the restaurant/department in assigned area(s). Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company's policies and applicable laws.
- Interact professionally, with civility, and effectively with coworkers and the public. Use and possess solid interpersonal skills and team orientation to maintain an optimal work environment.
- Organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines without direct supervision as well as the ability to create systems of organization for others.
- Adhere to company and department rules, policies, and procedures.
Working collaboratively and across multiple tasks, during an assigned shift, responsibilities include:
- Maintain reservations and assign parties to appropriate tables, stations and/or servers controlling the flow of business by practicing rotation seating, anticipating table turns and following the reservation and seating plan.
- Answer the telephone in a timely and courteous manner. Document and confirm reservations within the reservation system/book.
- Provide guests with accurate and detailed information regarding the location.
- Obtain staffing and station assignments for all servers and food runners from management.
- Assists management in completing and/or complete table/station charts with assignments.
- Immediately recognizes and greets arriving guests, obtains guests' names, provides names to servers, and directs guests to the appropriate waiting areas.
- Greet guests as they enter the taproom, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
- Escort guests to their assigned table, deliver and present menus to all guests. Communicate the needs of the guest to management and coworkers as needed. Accommodate any special requests or preferences.
- Quote waiting times to guests and correctly maintain the "wait" list. Proactively inform management when waiting times are over times quoted to guests.
- Acknowledge all departing guests and invite them to return.
- Clear and reset tables promptly after guests depart to ensure efficient turnover.
- Independently identify issues that may directly affect the quality of the guest's experience, informing FOH team members and management to take and/or assist with steps towards addressing the concerns. Inform management of all guest issues or complaints.
- Take, package, and tender to-go orders. Process 3rd-party to-go orders and run food to curbside when available.
- Present accurate bills, collect proper payment and secure payments.
- Balance cash receipts.
- Maintain an accurate account of coupons, cash, promos, vouchers, and credits.
- Assist FOH team members in following the Bosque Brewing Co. steps of service throughout the entire guest experience at the location, including but not limited to:
- Accurately delivering food to tables, ensuring guests have all appropriate condiments and utensils, refill non-alcoholic beverages as needed in a timely manner, ensuring guests receive their meals promptly.
- Clean tables, take plates, utensils and drinkware to the kitchen or appropriate area to be washed, and reset tables for the next service.
- Assist with closing duties, including cleaning tables, restocking supplies, and preparing the taproom for the next day's service.
- Maintain a clean, friendly, and welcoming environment, specifically responsible for maintaining cleanliness and properly stocked items in both the FOH, BOH, office (common team member areas), and storage areas. Responsible for completing opening/closing duties and side work as assigned.
- Regularly empty trash, mop floors, and other assorted cleaning duties for FOH and BOH areas as assigned.
- Complete miscellaneous cleaning projects.
- Clean and stock restrooms, leaving the conditions of restrooms ready for the next shift.
- Spot sweep taproom/restaurant on an as needed basis throughout service. Keep the dining room floor clean and free of excess debris/liquids at all times. Clean up accidental spillage or breakage.
- Stock all condiments and side stations to maintain prescribed par stock levels. Change and/or refresh condiments on an as needed basis.
- Update beer logs and beer boards with specialty beers.
- Washing glassware using proper techniques.
- May assist management in performing inventory, including merchandise, beer, glassware, and keg inventory by the specified deadline.
- Assist the management with events, such as birthday, special events, and caterings.
- Where assigned, assist bartenders with drink orders when necessary, ensuring all beverages are served promptly and with attention to detail.
- Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the taproom, including restrooms, ensuring a pleasant environment for guests at all times.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and servers to ensure smooth coordination of food orders and table service.
- Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally and promptly, striving to resolve issues to the satisfaction of the guest.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive and cohesive work environment, supporting each other to provide exceptional guest experiences.
- Complies with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Supports coworkers and departments with tasks and project-based work.
- Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned.
- Must be 19 years of age or older.
- High school Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience is required.
- Minimum of six (6) months of experience in the hospitality or food & beverage industry required.
- Ability to work as a team and in a fast-paced environment with high expectations, multiple tasks, and changing conditions.
- The ability to think on your feet and adapt, flexibility is key.
- Ability to interact professionally, with civility, and effectively with coworkers and the general public. Must possess solid interpersonal skills and team orientation.
- Must possess basic financial skills. Proven ability to process financial transactions, make and count correct change, and balance cash drawers.
- Working knowledge of reservation and POS systems.
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines without direct supervision as well as the ability to create systems of organization for others.
- Working knowledge of POS Systems, specifically Toast is highly preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (in English) with the ability to effectively listen to and understand others.
- Ability to read and follow schedules, menus, SOP's, and policies.
- Ability to present self in a professional, pleasant, and well-groomed manner.
- Ability to move kegs and operate a hand truck.
- Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Alcohol Server License and Food Safety Manager Certification.
- Ability to adhere to company and department rules, policies, and procedures.
- The employee is continuously (90-100%) required to:
- Balance, stand, and walk.
- Use repetitive motion of hands to reach, grasp, hold, handle, or feel; use repetitive motion of fingers to pick, pinch, and type;
- Push, pull, and lift up to 25 pounds of force to move objects; and talk or hear.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations of people, facilities, and food & beverages.
- The employee is frequently (60-90%) required to: read, write, prepare/analyze data and monetary amounts; reach, use hand-eye coordination; push, pull, and lift up to 35 pounds of force to move objects, move kegs and operate a hand truck.
- The employee is occasionally (30-60%) required to: climb using stepstools; stoop or crouch.
- The employee is rarely (0-30%) required to: climb using ladders; sit; push, pull, and lift up to 50+ pounds of force to move objects.
Work Conditions: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a person in the role encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee is subject to both indoor and outdoor environmental conditions. An employee, if assigned to an outdoor patio, may be subjected to extreme heat including temperatures near or over 100 degrees for periods of more than one (1) hour, including wind and varying humidity levels. The employee is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause an employee to speak loudly to be heard above ambient noise level. Employees may be required to function in narrow aisles or passageways.
