It is a peaceful, scenic, community-oriented area with an abundance of amenities to suit every taste.JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTSScheduled Weekly Hours: 40Work Shift: Monday - Friday 8am-4:30pmJOB SUMMARY: The LPN Oncology Nurse Navigator (ONN) is a professionally licensed practical nurse with oncology-specific clinical knowledge who offers individualized assistance to patients, families and caregivers to help overcome healthcare system barriers; uses the nursing process throughout all phases of the cancer continuum.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Licensed Practical Nurse required. Current LA LPN Licensure. Minimum of two years of oncology nursing experience. Current BLS certification. Current BLS certification through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross. The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off. Knowledge base of pathophysiology of cancer, treatment modalities, disease progression and organ systems management.Knowledge base of pathophysiology of cancer, treatment modalities, disease progression and organ systems management. Working knowledge of insurance coverage and procedures as well as community resources. Demonstrated ability in planning, organizing, leadership, and communication Typing and computer skills required. Strong organizational, leadership and critical thinking skills are needed as well as the ability to work in teams and prioritize patient needs. Must be able to work autonomously and have a basic working knowledge of insurance coverage and procedures. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 50 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.Physical Effort required: Constant (67%-100%) - handling/feeling, talking, hearing, seeingFrequently (34%-66%) - lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, stooping, crouching, reachingOccasionally (1%-33%) - crawling, climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.) EMPLOYMENTEach St. Tammany Health System staff member is expected to conduct himself or herself according to our mission, vision and values.
