Accounting Manager

CFS has partnered with a local nonprofit organization that has their global headquarters in Mahopac, NY. This is an Accounting Manager opportunity, open due to growth.

What youll do

  • Prepare and upload journal entries accurately and efficiently.
  • Complete monthly account analysis and bank reconciliations and research and resolve all reconciling differences in a timely manner.
  • Prepare public and private grant entries and related analysis, track grant receipts, assist with audits
  • Assist the Director of FP&A with annual budget process, monthly financial analysis and reporting and other projects as directed.
  • Provide supporting schedules for interim and year end audit.
  • Provide financial support to others throughout the organization
  • Function as backup to others in Finance when needed
  • Assist in other tasks including ad hoc analysis or special projects as assigned.
  • Improve business process efficiencies and document procedures.

What we are looking for

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting required + at least 5 years experience in accounting
  • CPA is ideal (or pursuing CPA)
  • Advanced Excel skills required (pivot tables/VLOOKUPs)
  • Public/private mix preferred
  • Must have managerial experience (or must be ready to take that on as a next step)
  • MUST have ERP implementation experience
