Product Engineer
– Segment Automotive Products
to join our General Industry and Automotive Segment.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Identify opportunities and define new products to fit the market opportunities, manage the introduction of the new press products, and provide product and application support for products once they have been introduced.
Act as the FANUC America product expert for press robot models and press specific software functions, applying technical understanding of the products to specific requirements and needs of FANUC robot customers.
Coordinate product development and release with internal and external stakeholders throughout the development cycle:
Identify press market needs and functional value for new products and functions
Define functional and timing requirements that will extend the press market for FANUC robots
Coordinate customer requirements with Research and Development to ensure customer requirements are met and expectations are managed
Develop and execute test plans for internal lab validation and beta site field trials
Introduce new products to internal organization and target customers
Develop sales and marketing tools (presentations, webinars, videos) promoting the unique competitive features of FANUC press products
Develop pricing recommendations for new robots models and options
Manage configurations and options available via standard sales to Authorized Integrators and End Customers, and via special quotation for large automotive customers
Identify and support beta/lead users
Evaluate the feasibility of new applications, provide customer demonstrations, support proposal development and related activities required to successfully apply our products with end customers
Coordinate the resolution of all critical issues
Identify product concerns and limitations with input from customers, users, and internal groups
Act as a liaison/change manager between FANUC product development, field service organization, executing groups, and end customer/integration partners
Execute small development efforts or support our internal development groups in the execution of larger development efforts supporting new product features and capabilities
Concept, develop, execute, and support world class demonstration cells for trade shows and for permanent display which highlight the industry leading capabilities of FANUC robot products
Occasional overnight travel to customer sites
Ideal candidate will have the following experience and education:
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering (Controls, Robot, Mechanical, Electrical or Computer) or related field or related experience
Ability to identify and define technical problems to both experienced and novice personnel
Ability to define a plan for how to solve technical problems then guide both experienced and novice personnel through the solution plan
Always work with integrity and authenticity
Ability to effectively manage themselves in
a somewhat unstructured
environment
Strong interpersonal skills
in order to
work closely and help to manage both internal and external resources (
e.g.
teamwork, resource management, conflict management)
