Job Description

DallasNews Corporation seeks a dynamic events, programs, and communications manager who will be responsible for event planning, cross-company communications, and developing
and managing barter relationships.

The ideal candidate for this position will be a strategic thinker who can effectively manage multiple projects, coordinate with stakeholders, and utilize their strong communication and event
planning skills to complete all tasks successfully.

This individual will be a core member of DallasNews Corporation and will work with teams from both The Dallas Morning News and Medium Giant. They will work alongside the Marketing
Director, as well as the newsroom, audience, and human resource departments, building relationships, connecting with the community, and increasing brand awareness.

Large initiatives include: Top Workplaces, DMN Charities, Linz Award, and grass roots marketing efforts that will help build the brand identity of all DallasNews Corporation companies.

This individual's responsibilities are three-pronged:
1. Internal and external events
2. Internal corporate communications (excluding HR-process communications)
3. Barter relationships and execution

Responsibilities:
Event/Program Management:
• Responsibilities include assisting with event strategies and concepts, budget
development/management, logistics, staffing and vendor management, sponsorships,
and post-event evaluation to improve event results and processes for The Dallas
Morning News and its sister company, Medium Giant.
• Oversee logistics for all events including brainstorming, vendor
search/selection/relationships, contract review, food and beverage details, production
needs, promotion plan, and execution.
• Organize and lead appropriate internal planning meetings during the development and
strategy phase, and continue regular check-ins for large programs
• Communicate with key volunteers (Board, Campaign Chairman, Committees, etc.) as
appropriate regarding event program, flow, responsibilities, etc.
• Prepare and meet budgetary objectives; source in-kind support to help offset expenses
• Oversee 3rd party vendor RFP processes
• Coordinate communications, touchpoints, and processes with internal departmental services on the event

Responsible for quality management of the following components:
• Venue space management
• Meeting room requirements
• Audio Visual requirements
• Event/Exhibit/Show floor management
• Graphics management
• Sponsorship fulfillment
• Food and beverage coordination
• Promotional items
• Transportation
• Sponsor and vendor communications and management
• Event staffing
• Oversee the onsite execution of the event and responsible for post-event deliverables
• Attendee communications, pre-and post event
Communications:
Responsible for overseeing the implementation of internal communication strategies, including
organizational and creative tasks to standardize and improve the communication efforts of the
organization, including, but not limited to:
• Oversee and write internal newsletters and other internal business and cultural
correspondence
• Perform communications research and monitor the progress of various communications
strategies
• Lead execution on strategic priority scorecards, executive presentations and town halls

Barter Relationship and Execution:
• Create effective partner relationships in the community, maximizing exposure
• Manage contracts, deliverables, and fulfillment process
• Seek out opportunities to "upsell"
• Continually assess partnership and effectiveness
