Transforming the Future with Convergence of Simulation and DataEnvironmental, Health, and Safety Engineer (EHS)Job Summary:Our client in Troy, MI is looking for an Environmental, Health, and Safety Engineer (EHS). This is a Contract position.We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Environmental, Health, and Safety Engineer (EHS) to join our manufacturing engineering organization. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and compliant working environment, particularly in the context of launching new automotive vehicle projects. The EHS Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement effective safety measures and environmental practices, considering the unique requirements of automotive manufacturing facilities.Prioritize safety above all to protect our team members, partners, and customers.Develop and implement EHS programs and policies, with a focus on automotive manufacturing facilities and projects.Collaborate with manufacturing engineering teams and all other stakeholders to integrate safety measures into the planning and execution of facilities and manufacturing projects, especially those related to launching new automotive vehicles.Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards in both facility and manufacturing settings.Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to environmental, health, and safety in automotive manufacturing.Provide EHS expertise and support during the design and construction phases of new facilities and manufacturing lines.Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees and contractors, emphasizing the specific risks associated with automotive manufacturing.Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.Collaborate with facilities and manufacturing teams to develop emergency response plans for automotive production scenarios.Implement and monitor environmental programs, including waste management and emissions control, with consideration for automotive manufacturing processes.Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes related to EHS in automotive manufacturing.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain a safety culture within the manufacturing engineering organization.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Facility Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (Professional Engineer (PE) license and advance degree is a plus).Proven experience as a Facility Engineer or in a similar role, with a track record of successfully supporting automotive vehicle launches.Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing continues improvement, facility management principles and best practices, especially in an automotive manufacturing context.Experience in project management, including planning, budgeting, and execution, with a focus on automotive manufacturing facility projects.Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to troubleshoot and address facility-related issues promptly, specifically those impacting automotive manufacturing processes.Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards relevant to automotive manufacturing facilities.Proficiency in using computer-aided design (CAD) software.Knowledge of energy conservation practices and sustainability initiatives in the context of automotive manufacturing.Experience with facilities in automotive manufacturing or similar industrial settings.Certification in Facility Management (CFM) is a plus.How You Will Be Successful:Envision the FutureCommunicate Honestly and BroadlySeek Technology and Business "First"Embrace Diversity and Take RisksWhat We Offer:Competitive SalaryComprehensive Benefit Package401(k) with matching contributionsPaid Time OffEmployee DiscountsFree training on all Altair productsWhy Work with Us:Altair is a global technology company providing software and cloud solutions in the area of data analytics, product development, and high-performance computing (HPC).
