At Imaginative Beginnings, our essential duties and responsibilities for this role include:

  • Providing child/family-centered consultation when educators or parents express concerns about the social-emotional development of a specific child.
  • Establishing relationships with early learning centers and offering ongoing classroom support to enhance the skills of early educators and reduce expulsion rates.
  • Collaborating with parents and educators to devise and oversee implementation of action plans (individualized or classroom-focused) aimed at supporting social and emotional skill-building in children.
  • Making appropriate referrals of children and their families to relevant services.
  • Offering learning opportunities for educators and families to enhance their understanding and effectiveness in supporting children's social-emotional development, especially those with behavioral issues.
  • Collaborating with community agencies and fostering relationships within the communities served.
  • Providing initial and ongoing assessment, counseling, and clinical interventions to an assigned caseload.
  • Delivering individual, group, and family psychotherapy interventions.
  • Integrating Trauma-Informed Care practices into interactions with clients.
  • Communicating with pertinent internal and external care providers for ongoing assessment and care coordination.
  • Maintaining complete and current clinical records for all clients served.
  • Meeting productivity goals as assigned.
  • Performing duties in accordance with applicable professional ethics, standards, and established Imaginative Beginnings policies.
  • Adhering to all state and federal laws concerning protected health information.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

In addition to the essential duties, this role may involve:
  • Using reflective practice and participating in regularly scheduled reflective supervision.
  • Maintaining scheduling flexibility to accommodate meetings with families and staff during early mornings or evenings.
  • Demonstrating strong communication and observational skills.
  • Performing job duties in alignment with the agency's Mission, Vision, and Standards of Ethical Conduct.
  • Organizing and planning work for optimal efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Utilizing IT systems and software programs in line with agency policy.
  • Managing time off in accordance with agency policy.

Candidates for this role should demonstrate:
  • Current knowledge of mental health practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Familiarity with community resources and partnerships available for clients.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands of this position include:
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Performing job responsibilities in facilities with multiple levels and without elevator or mechanical transportation.
  • Operating a computer and keyboard.
