SUMMARY:
This position provides Human Resources leadership and consultation to management and their staff to support the talent needs of the organization. This includes the hiring and onboarding process, compensation and benefit plan communication, policy and program administration, employee counseling, training, performance management and legal compliance in all areas of Human Resources under the direction of the Vice President of People and Culture.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Establishes and maintains relationships with vendor organizations for services such as: recruitment, compensation, payroll, benefits, recognition programs, leave of absence management, health and safety programs. Monitors administrative service level agreements, administrative fees, performance guarantees and results.
Assists with developing and maintaining constructive and timely onboarding and performance evaluation processes.
Provides day-to-day performance management guidance (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions) to leaders. Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risk and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with legal department and vendor organizations as needed.
Analyzes market salary data, market trends, government regulations, and pay policies to ensure a competitive, compliant base pay structure to support salary decisions. Works with HR leadership and Finance to establish and maintain competitive incentive programs.
Assists with the annual salary planning and budgeting process of pay increases and salary adjustments.
Assists with the analysis, design, delivery, and administration of benefits package including health and welfare benefits, retirement plans, income-protection programs, leave-of-absence programs, the employee well-being programs and voluntary benefits.
Participates in the creation and evaluation of communication related to benefits, enrollment, annual enrollment, qualifying events and compensation for various audiences including job candidates, employees, leaders and executive leadership.
Assists with the development and maintenance of policies and practices related to employee benefits, compensation, service and retirement recognition programs, in an organized manner to assist with the execution of benefits and compensation programs
Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.
Maintains records in accordance with labor laws concerning interviews, applicant sources, hires, vacant positions and other required data.
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Provides leadership and staff training, growth and development opportunities to ensure both leadership and staff are in a position to meet department and organizational objectives.
Maximizes the use of information technology tools to solve labor-related organizational problems. Provides insightful analysis of information gathered and makes sound recommendations; helps customers learn how to access and interpret information that is meaningful for decision making.
Partners with Payroll Manager to resolve payroll-related matters.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource or Business related field required, Master’s degree preferred.
At least 5 years’ experience within Human Resources required.
Proven independent decision making and critical thinking in highly complex environments.
Professional speaking and communication experience with all levels of leadership.
Working knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines including compensation practices, benefits, leave administration, talent management, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, performance management, federal and state respective employment laws.
CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, and/or REGISTRATIONS:
PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
