The minimum and maximum salaries for this job role are below: Minimum Salary - 91,360.00 Maximum Salary - 114,200.00 The Role Apply technical knowledge of US entity GAAP results to execute financial accounting and advisory services, timely and accurate financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders, and providing detailed commentary on current business performance. Provide support on monthly and quarterly financial reporting and analysis for the US Programs/MGA business including collaboration and production of premium and loss accounting, premium and loss allocation, and receipt and disbursement processes. Key Accountabilities Contributes to, monitors, and advises on the plan developments and changes in order to ensure relevancy, compliance, and optimal delivery. Assists in the preparation and implementation of the operational team plans to ensure these are in line with wider business strategy and reflect key priorities. Determines own work priorities and activities in line with agreed plans to ensure the achievement of the function’s objectives. Manage a portfolio of products and be responsible for the timeliness and quality of the work of the team. Navigate changing and complex tax environment related to stringent capital requirements, management of operational tax risks, and tax implications. Audit readiness and remediation. Ensure quality in delivering client service by following through on requests in a timely manner, manage expectations for deliverables and reports, and identify issues. Research and benchmark product data to industry data. Manage quality of service delivery for financial accounting, reporting, accounting processes, regulation, governance, etc. Explains critical success factors and apply independent and objective professional judgment in applying accounting standards to meet engagement expectations, including regulatory requirements. Analyze (Re)insurance financial data and present findings to senior management. Provide advice, guidance, and information on financial matters to support decision making and improve understanding on financial management. Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including internal (e.g., Insurance Operations, Tax, Group Finance, Internal Audit, Group Investment/Treasury, Group Systems) and external auditors and bankers, to ensure service delivery meets customer expectations. Develop relationships in line with the business plan for the division to support the achievement of its objectives. Prepare accurate and timely statutory and regulatory reporting outputs, ex. Monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP, ensuring the overall quality and completeness of formal returns and supporting audit trail (including preparation of annual financial statements, tax returns, tax packs, entity reporting packs, etc). Ensures data accuracy of premium and loss bordereaux’s reported from Aspen’s Third Party Administrators. Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts, providing insight and commentary on variance analysis. Conducts reviews of results and prepares other ad-hoc reports/analyses to ensure stakeholder, legislative and regulatory requirements are best met. Participate in special Finance projects relating to the improvement of processes and strategic initiatives when required to provide appropriate finance advice and guidance. Manage a specific team within the function/department or specialism to ensure that people, resources, and processes are aligned with business needs and fit for purpose. Manage, resource, motivate, develop, and focus the team to ensure the required standards of performance and support the continuing personal and professional development of all team members. Manage appointment, dismissal, performance management, and reward of the team to effectively manage resources within the function. Establish clear accountabilities and authority levels for direct reports and build a strong culture of accountability and performance in order to ensure delivery of goals. Skills & Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred. At least 3 years in accounting/auditing (preferably for a P&C insurance company) with at least 3 years in the insurance industry. Technical accounting research and advice. Financial statement close process support. Transaction accounting and reporting. Audit remediation and readiness. Excellent analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills. Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, and technical writing skills. Ability and comfort level in researching inquiries and emerging issues, including regulations, industry practices, and new technologies. Highly proficient in MS systems such as Excel. Good analytical skills. A high level of numeracy and literacy. Effective time management skills with the ability to manage priorities to meet strict deadlines. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Teamwork – able to collaborate and work flexibly with others. Ability to work independently and autonomously with minimal supervision.
