Randall Construction is currently seeking a top-tier Staff Accountant (Construction) to join our team and work full time/on-site in our Apopka, FL headquarters. We are excited about this important role and are determined to consider the best and brightest candidates who meet our requirements.

Position Summary

Our Staff Accountant must be able to effectively communicate the results of their entries, providing explanations and support for booked amounts. Each month, there is a financial statement close process, and the accountant must meet all related deadlines. The ability to understand Job Costing and to create and analyze Work-In-Progress (WIP) reports is critical in this position. During the remaining portion of each month, the accountant will work on various projects, which may include reconciling all assigned balance sheet classes, working with internal and external auditors, preparing and submitting all forms related to tax, corporate, regulatory, and community benefits. The accountant actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Essential Functions

  • Oversee the financial operations to include providing expertise to ensure that the system of internal financial controls effectively safeguard the Company assets and provide accurate and timely financial information
  • Analyze and complete monthly WIP reports
  • Reconcile Balance Sheet Accounts including bank reconciliations monthly.
  • Prepare journal entries.
  • Reconcile Intercompany Accounts
  • Participates in the preparation of annual audits
  • Responsible for month-end closing and the review and preparation of financials
  • Annual Fixed Assets Audit
  • Assist in the formulation of internal controls and policies
  • Review existing financial processes and procedures and develop recommendations for improvements
  • Analyze project reports, status on billing and follow up for closing
  • Work closely with Management to learn the business
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Desired Qualification Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • 1-5 years of experience in a construction environment
  • Software: ComputerEase, Sage, Timberline, Great Plains (preferred)
  • Good verbal and writing skills to clearly communicate with customers, suppliers, and other Randall employees.
  • Ability to pass drug screen and reference check.
  • Strong Microsoft Suite skills including high level proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong work ethic and team player.
  • High degree of professionalism.
  • Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material
  • Ability to communicate with various levels of management.
  • Decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.
