Plant Accounting Manager

A strategic financial role, the Plant Accounting Manager ensures financial precision within manufacturing. Responsibilities include analyzing financial data, guiding cost allocations, and managing end-of-month financial tasks to support informed decision-making and maintain fiscal integrity.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct daily assessments of plant operations, examining key performance indicators (KPIs) that highlight manufacturing discrepancies, logistical efficiency, work order progression, and inventory transactions.
- Engage in the oversight and governance of stock levels, encompassing valuation, aging analysis, and physical counts.
- Collaborate with plant leadership to monitor and evaluate monthly KPIs and operational outcomes.
- Generate precise and prompt reports pertinent to plant activities, offering variance analysis against fiscal benchmarks and operational standards.
- Utilize insights from manufacturing operations to propose strategic enhancements, aiming for cost reduction and efficiency optimization.
- Formulate monthly projections that reflect the plants operational performance.
- Provide support in crafting the annual financial plan, working closely with plant management teams.
- Oversee inventory administration, managing the valuation of raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished products.
- Execute month-end procedures, including the consolidation and documentation of inventory valuations.
- Perform audits on material usage records, ensuring accuracy in material yields and waste metrics.
- Establish and adjust standard costs for production conversion.
- Conduct monthly analyses of plant financial statements, scrutinizing expenditures and necessary accruals.
- Manage plant-specific ledger accounts, performing regular reconciliations to maintain financial integrity.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Educational Foundation Possession of a
bachelors degree in AccountingFinance, or a closely related discipline. - Industry Experience A minimum of
5 years of accounting practice within a manufacturing setting, showcasing strong analytical skills. - Manufacturing Insight At least
3 years of active engagement in a manufacturing milieu, collaborating with plant leadership, emphasizing cost analysis - Technical Expertise Familiarity with
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, particularly in standard costing methodologies. - Software Proficiency Advanced skills in
Microsoft Excel and the ability to navigate complex data sets. - Communication Prowess Exceptional
verbal and written communication abilities, with a track record of effectively conveying analytical findings. - Organizational Acumen Demonstrated
time management and organizational talents, ensuring efficiency and orderliness. - Team Dynamics A proven history of contributing positively within a
team-based environment - Professional Attitude A proactive and
learning-oriented mindset, open to new knowledge and practices. - Credential Preference An
accounting certification is considered an asset. - Software Familiarity Experience with
JD Edwards software is highly regarded.
