Personal Banker

We are currently seeking professional, highly motivated, service-oriented individuals to fill our Full-Time Personal Banker position. Personal Bankers are responsible for preforming routine branch and customer service duties while referring new or existing customers to appropriate departments for any services Ulster Savings Bank or its subsidiaries offer, and maintaining a safe work environment by adhering to the advanced security protocols Ulster Savings Bank has in place. Candidates must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to listen, understand, and respond to requests in a timely manner, and be able to perform all essential duties and clerical functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Verify the customer standing in front of you to process retail and commercial checking and savings account deposits and withdrawals
2. Assist in performing all safe deposit box duties
3. Redeem savings bonds for existing and non-existing customers
4. Issue debit cards and gift cards to customers who request them
5. Open all types of new personal and commercial accounts (ex: checking, savings, safe deposit box, IRA)
6. Marketing products:
   1. Discuss traditional and non-traditional bank products with new and existing customers
   2. Continuously refer customers to other Ulster Savings Bank departments and subsidiaries
   3. Stay up to date with all products offered by the Bank and its subsidiaries and the purpose of each product
7. Perform all Certificate of Deposit redemptions, pay-outs, transfers, and renewals
8. Count all currency and coin accurately to balance your cash box daily
9. Clearly verify signatures and amounts on negotiable instruments and various bank forms including but not limited to:
   1. checks, deposit and withdrawal slips, signature cards, payments, ect.
10. Write various tickets, proof sheets, and receipts for auditing purposes
11. Assist customers with questions and problems
12. Travel to other branches as needed
13. Any other duties management may assign

Reports to: Branch Supervisor

Hours: Mon.-Thurs: 8:15am-5:15pm

Fri: 8:15am-5:15pm, 9:15am-6:15pm

Min 2/Sats per month

Salary grades and ranges are based upon the market value of each position and are set as a guideline. The successful candidate's skill level, job history, and performance history are also taken into consideration when job offers are made. Therefore, actual salary offers may fall outside of the salary grade of a position. This position will be posted internally and externally until the position has been filled. 1. Minimum 1 year cash handling experience
