Credit Balance Specialist

A large Revenue Cycle Management group is seeking an experienced Credit Balance Specialist to join their team onsite in Lewisville, TX.

Overview:

  • Analyze patient accounts in assigned credit balance (CB) work queues to resolve both distributed and undistributed credit balances
  • Determine proper coordination of benefits
  • Add missing coverage(s) to patient accounts and/or update any outdated coverage information
  • Add account comments regarding coverage changes/additions, documenting who was consulted (payer contact name and phone number, reference to website, etc.)
  • Analyze credit balance inquiries and potential refund requests from other departments
  • Identify payer-specific trends
Must Have Skills/Qualifications
  • 3+ Years of recent Revenue Cycle Management experience (Credit Balance experience preferred)
  • Expert insurance payer knowledge, adjustments, refunds, credits, primary & secondary insurances
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Hours: Mon-Fri 8am-4:30pm (3 days remote, 2 days onsite)

Pay: $20-24 per hour depending on experience

Benefits provided by Medix:

In order to be eligible for health benefits, you must be employed for 30 days and must average 30 hours per week over your first four weeks on assignment. If you become eligible and take action to enroll, you will be covered no earlier than 60 days into your assignment, depending on plan selection(s).

Sick Pay: You will receive one day of Sick Time after working 600 hours and an additional day of Sick Time for every 300 hours after. **Please note that if you're in a city/state with unique PTO requirements, the city/state's policy will override Medix's internal PTO policy.
