Description:

POSITION PURPOSE

Coordinates the testing, piloting and deployment of enterprise-wide OS and application patches to endpoints through a formal release management process. Serves as liaison with Enterprise Information Security, EIS, local support teams, and application owners throughout the patch deployment process. Acts as a subject matter expert in patch administration, deployment, and remediation. Works with EIS on remediation of any patches older than 30 days past deployment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.
  • Deployment of monthly Microsoft Windows patches, 3rd party application patches, and any other patches as required.
  • Remediation of patches that have not been installed on production devices.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of industry practices with Microsoft patches.
  • Initiates, plans and leads team for internal software upgrades, new product research and process development.
  • Coordinates, designs, develops and tests all enterprise level patches for all Trinity Health managed locations.
  • Provides in-depth support of core software and basic support of non-core software.
  • Participates in project activities beyond technical tasks, to include collecting data, contributing to designs/decisions, and communicating with customers.
  • Performs in-depth investigation/research into resolution of non-routine problems.
  • Provides solutions to moderately complex hardware and software issues to include configurations, optimizations, system imaging, queues, drivers, etc.
  • Understands the process and the reasons behind a robust patch management and vulnerability remediation strategy.
  • Receives, maintains, and closes issues through the proper use of incident and request tracking software, meeting or exceeding all Service Level Agreement (SLA) requirements and quality standards.
  • Other duties as needed and assigned.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health's Integrity and Compliance Program, and Code of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience with multi-site, large environment patch management systems - Windows Update for Business and SCCM experienced preferred.
  • Experience with project planning and acting in technical project leadership role.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience with Novell ZenWorks, Admin Studio, SCCM, InTune, Azure and/or a similar product for application packaging and distribution.
  • MSI application packaging experience.
  • Working knowledge of Windows automation scripting such as Powershell, App Deployment toolkit, WMI, VBScript, batch files.
  • ZenWorks experience for deployment of packages is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of operating systems (Windows 10 and Windows 11 workstation).
  • Experience configuring, supporting and troubleshooting Windows workstations and desktop applications.
  • Experience with DLL conflicts, Windows registry, environment variables, and batch files.
  • Advanced knowledge of PC hardware, peripherals, and core software.
  • Basic knowledge of network operating systems, protocols, and administration.
  • Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist certification (or equivalent) preferred.
  • Ability, aptitude, and desire to be part of service oriented team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact effectively with clients, vendors, and ITS staff.
  • Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
  • Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health.
