Description: The Advanced Threat Warning System (ATWS) program area is in need of an experienced design engineer. Primary job responsibilities include conceptual and detailed mechanical design, tolerance analyses, and performing trade studies. The individual will be responsible for 2D and 3D engineering model and documentation creation and initial release, as well as coordination with other engineering and production disciplines for change notices and drawing revisions for producibility and affordability improvements. Candidate will be working in the ATWS program area designing precision mechanical and opto-mechanical prototype, production, and test hardware in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Tasks and responsibilities may include support of system and subassembly level test planning and execution, production nonconformance Material Review Board (MRB) disposition, coordination and support for outside suppliers, and presentations at Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings, Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs), Critical Design Reviews (CDRs), Design Assurance Reviews (DARs), and other internal and external customer reviews. Basic Qualifications: Precision mechanical / opto-mechanical design experience is required. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline is required. Proficiency with CREO (Pro/Engineer) is required. Experience with developing and interpreting GD&T in accordance with ASME Y14.5 is required. Experience with PTC Windchill is required. Basic Microsoft Office skills is required. Needs ability to obtain/maintain a secret clearance. US citizenship required. Desired Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills are highly desirable. Multiple programs will be worked concurrently and the ability to coordinate and prioritize conflicting priorities is highly desirable. Occasional overtime may be required to satisfy schedule requirements. Experience on SAR programs/contracts is desirable. Experience with lab and flight integration and test support is a plus. Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
