PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Support domestic and international sourcing by performing daily procurement activities, managing supplier relationships, and focus on building a cost effective on-demand supply chain.Maintain internal and external customer service by managing inventory levels which support the production plan. Internationally, work directly with the International Supply Manager sourcing finished consumer goods, qualifying factories using 3rd party and in-person audits, negotiating costs and work with 3rd party logistics suppliers for on time deliveries.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Plan and execute procurement of raw materials, purchased components, and manufacturing/maintenance supplies from global suppliers. Secure and analyze quotations, negotiate prices, and recommend suppliers with respect to cost, quality, and delivery competitiveness.
  • Procure imported goods for Zippo and Case and assist with ZMC's subsidiaries.
  • Domestically/Internationally maintain strong working relationships and communications with manufacturing and key suppliers globally to confirm production/shipping schedules.
    • Create and monitor purchase orders to ensure on-time deliveries.
    • Coordinate costing and payment requirements with accounting.
    • Proactively report product and material availability/quality issues.
    • Schedule and monitor 3rd party production inspections prior to shipping
    • Work with the ZMC Freight Forwarders for best rates and timelines for delivery of all Sourced Products
    • Manipulate vendors' production schedules to support our needs.
  • Analyze MRP results and determine if the plan reflects a logical procurement plan.Act upon requirements.
  • Monitor the appropriate targeted inventory levels to ensure adequate stock of components and/or raw materials are on hand to avoid out of stocks.
  • Work directly with the Innovation, Sales, and Marketing teams on "Opportunity" projects and other targeted promotions requiring door to door attention from sourcing and vetting to delivery of finished goods.
  • Work with the teams on new items and arrange for submission and inspection of sample products as required; maintains close coordination with engineering/quality to ensure timely execution of product inspection and sourcing activities.
  • Monitor global circumstances impacting pricing, production, shipping, and other factors impacting the supply chain.
  • Negotiate and implement Supplier Agreements.
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies by working with finance, receiving and the supplier.
  • Maintain proper HTS codes, tariffs and duties on imported/exported products.
  • Communicate quality matters and engineering changes/developments between Zippo/Case and suppliers.
  • Visit suppliers' facilities assisting in questions regarding production, design, quality, and/or delivery problems or to qualify them as a new source. Establish/build long term business relationships, fostering trust and mutual respect and cooperation.
  • Produce and maintain up-to-date reports supporting purchasing, manufacturing, and inventory. Sourced Products Report, Monday.com report and others as assigned.
  • Travel - International Travel required 3-4 times annually including but not limited to China, India, and Mexico.Domestic travel as needed. (Total time away 5-25%)
  • Grasp cultural differences, allowing for enhanced business relationships.


EDUCATION AND ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree or 5 years' experience in a related field
  • International buying experience is a plus.
  • Astute analytical, planning, and organizational skills
  • Effective negotiating skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills (oral & written)
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently under pressure and react quickly to changing priorities
  • Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Working knowledge and understanding of ERP/MRP systems and their use in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft AX/D365 operating system preferred


*This position is a hybrid position, requiring three days per week on-site (Tuesday, Wednesday, and a third day determined between the selected candidate and their manager). However, this role is open to remote if the selected candidate is greater than 45 miles from Bradford, PA but would require one (1) week per month of full on-site if remote.**
