Description

General Responsibility: The Purchasing Manager is responsible for sourcing & purchasing products and services for Surgere, both domestic and international. This role is responsible for execution of the sourcing strategy and negotiation with suppliers and vendors in order to acquire the most cost-effective deals.

Purchasing Manager Job Duties:

  • Purchase supplies, materials, and parts for Surgere.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors. Evaluate vendor performance regularly and address any issues or concerns.
  • Negotiate and complete contracts with vendors for optimal cost and delivery times.
  • Review purchase orders and contracts for compliance with company and departmental policies.
  • Ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions without compromising on quality. Identify opportunities for cost reduction and implement cost-saving initiatives.
  • Lead import/export activities for Surgere's international operations.
  • Collaborates with Sales and Operations departments to maximize efficiency in purchasing and inventory control.
  • Collaborates with other departments and leadership to identify and develop needs and requirements for equipment, materials, products, and acceptable substitutions.
  • Communicates with suppliers to resolve problems that may arise regarding delivery, quality, price, or conditions of sale.
  • Lead contract negotiations with suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions, including pricing, warranties, and service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, prices, buyers, and delivery conditions to anticipate future material availability; directs purchasing programs accordingly.
  • Identify and mitigate procurement risks, including supply chain disruptions, vendor financial stability, and regulatory compliance issues
  • Promote sustainable and responsible procurement practices, considering environmental and social impact in vendor selection and decision-making.
  • Make 100% of Surgere customers "Raving Fans"
Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 -5 years experience in procurement or related field
  • Experience in purchasing IoT products a plus
  • International procurement experience a plus
  • Proven negotiation skills, along with excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills required
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills required
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Thorough understanding of materials and supplies used in the company.
  • Proficient with accounting software and Microsoft Office
  • Must be self-motivated and able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
