Requirements:
- Master's degree in Speech Pathology, Speech Audiology, Communications Disorders, or similar program.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- Minnesota state license for Speech and Language Therapy, or eligibility to become licensed
- Public school work experience preferred.
- Positive, energetic, and compassionate approach to education.
- Willingness to participate in events outside normal hours, travel as needed, and engage actively in the role.
- Caseload and details of position/classroom type will differ based on school location
- Recruitment Specialists can discuss in detail upon application to connect you to the classroom and best suits your experience and skillset
- Contracted for the 24/25 School Year (36 weeks)
- Contract follows the academic district calendar
- Full-time, in person
Essential Functions:
- Identify students needing specialized speech or language services, instruction, curriculum, activities, and classes and support them with solutions that enable them to thrive in a learning environment and achieve academic goals.
- Facilitate individual and/or group therapy activities using curriculum-based materials and content and provide progress reports and documentation as needed.
- Supervise support staff as needed and consult with fellow educators regarding accommodations, needs, instructional strategies, necessary equipment, and support.
- Provide augmentative and alternative communication systems for individuals with severe expressive and/or language disorders.
- Create a classroom and learning environment that cultivates learning, engages the interests of the students, and allows them to perform at their very best. Then celebrate them
- Utilize direct instruction techniques to guide our students through a variety of activities designed to promote the social, physical, and intellectual growth that is needed for primary school success
- Explore individual needs and give side-by-side support to discover how each student best learns and develop personalized solutions to each student's learning style and abilities.
- Master our proven curriculum as you implement our philosophy of education and guide the learning process and students toward the achievement of the curriculum goals.
- Encourage students to uphold our values and model mature behavior and good character in the classroom, on the school campus, and throughout their lives.
- 50% of the district population receives English Language Services, many from Ecuador, Spanish speaking would be a plus, but not required.
- The SLP would be joining a great and supportive team, including two other full-time SLPs so they would NOT be on their own.
- $72-$82/hr based on your experience
- $1,000 start & $1,000 completion bonus
