Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Speech Pathology, Speech Audiology, Communications Disorders, or similar program.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
  • Minnesota state license for Speech and Language Therapy, or eligibility to become licensed
  • Public school work experience preferred.

Job Description:
  • Caseload and details of position/classroom type will differ based on school location

  • Contracted for the 24/25 School Year (36 weeks)
  • Contract follows the academic district calendar
  • Full-time, in person
Position Overview: Provide speech and language therapy services to help students improve communication and learning skills.

Essential Functions:
  • Identify students needing specialized speech or language services, instruction, curriculum, activities, and classes and support them with solutions that enable them to thrive in a learning environment and achieve academic goals.
  • Facilitate individual and/or group therapy activities using curriculum-based materials and content and provide progress reports and documentation as needed.
  • Supervise support staff as needed and consult with fellow educators regarding accommodations, needs, instructional strategies, necessary equipment, and support.
  • Provide augmentative and alternative communication systems for individuals with severe expressive and/or language disorders.
  • Create a classroom and learning environment that cultivates learning, engages the interests of the students, and allows them to perform at their very best. Then celebrate them
  • Utilize direct instruction techniques to guide our students through a variety of activities designed to promote the social, physical, and intellectual growth that is needed for primary school success
  • Explore individual needs and give side-by-side support to discover how each student best learns and develop personalized solutions to each student's learning style and abilities.
  • Master our proven curriculum as you implement our philosophy of education and guide the learning process and students toward the achievement of the curriculum goals.
  • Encourage students to uphold our values and model mature behavior and good character in the classroom, on the school campus, and throughout their lives.
  • 50% of the district population receives English Language Services, many from Ecuador, Spanish speaking would be a plus, but not required.
  • The SLP would be joining a great and supportive team, including two other full-time SLPs so they would NOT be on their own.
Salary:
  • $72-$82/hr based on your experience
  • $1,000 start & $1,000 completion bonus
  • Different pay packages offered based on your needs
