The role youll contribute:

Under general direction, the Quality Coordinator provides coordination for quality governance committees and quality initiatives. Proactively seeks input from key stakeholders and follows up on deadlines with minimal direct supervision. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

  • Provides coordination for system quality governance committees including Clinical Integration Committee, System Patient Safety & Quality Committee, Board Patient Safety & Quality Committee.
  • Committee support includes managing the agenda over time to fulfill committees charter, ensuring readiness and follow-up for requested speakers and preparing presentation/hand-out materials.Takes minutes.
  • Gathers, prepares, arranges and displays performance improvement data in a meaningful way and useful format for those who must analyze and use the data.
  • Analyzes performance improvement data to discern any quality concerns or practice patterns or to pinpoint areas for process improvement.
  • Communicates regularly with campus quality leaders to identify data and information needs. Follows-up to provide resources to requesting leaders.
  • Assists with preparation for regulatory/accreditation surveys, such as DNV, AHCA, etc.
  • Coordinates Corrective Action activities as needed for any hospital committee.
  • Ensures timely submissions to public-reporting and award agencies.
  • Plans training/motivational events to promote quality/patient safety, including national Healthcare Quality Week, Patient Safety Week, etc.
  • Develops newsletters, education materials and videos for quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences youll need to succeed:

  • Associates degree or two years of college studies in business, engineering, computer science or healthcare related field OR
  • Two years of experience in healthcare quality/performance improvement
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to individuals and audiences throughout the institution.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to focus detailed, concentrated effort to multiple projects and re-establish priorities as necessary. Ability to effectively respond to time-sensitive issues and meet deadlines.
  • Initiative and ability to work independently (self-direction), while thriving in a setting requiring collaboration and teamwork for maximal efficiency and effectiveness. Attention to detail that ensures follow-through on all initiatives implemented and all projects undertaken.
  • Mastery of desktop applications, including MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access) and project management applications (MS Project).

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

Bachelors degree in business discipline or healthcare-related field

Experience with quality management/performance excellence systems such as ISO 9001, AS9100, Baldrige National Quality Program

Current Florida Nursing License (RN)

Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality from the National Association of Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)

HealthCare Quality Management certification from the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians

Certification in a quality improvement methodology/toolset such as Lean, Six Sigma, Change Management, etc.
