JOB SUMMARY

The Director administers, organizes, and maintains the company's Risk Management Program. The Director, through direct liaison with Corporate Risk Management, is responsible for establishing the operational parameters of the programs and their respective divisions. The Director oversees the risk management program and is responsible for risk identification, assessment, and mitigation to reduce loss, organizational risk, and legal liability. This position will ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, State, Local and Federal regulations.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Planning, directing, coordinating, controlling, and staffing of Risk Management program.
  • Directly oversee the property and casualty insurance programs, including the oversight of the Owner Controlled Insurance Programs during construction.
  • Primary liaison with Corporate Director of Risk Management responsible for establishing the operational parameters of the programs and their respective divisions and units.
  • Responsible for risk identification, assessment, and mitigation to reduce loss, organizational risk, and legal liability.
  • Point of contact for the State of Nevada Department of Insurance and Self-Insurance Workers Compensation program. Responsible for schedule reporting to State.
  • Quantifies potential risks and seeks to limit liability or exposure through the implementation of risk reduction strategies while ensuring compliance with risk-related legislation and industry practices.
  • Responsible for overseeing all relationships with Insurance Vendors and Third-Party Claims Administrators (TPA) in the handling and resolving casualty claims and take the lead role in administration of the Business Continuity Plan. Review and approve monthly claims funding for TPA.
  • Promotes a culture of Safety and Loss Prevention throughout the organization, collaborates in these department meetings to remain aware of ongoing property activities and new activities such as special events and new retail and restaurant establishments to ensure proper contract language around insurance and indemnification is in place and collect and maintain insurance certificates.
  • Conduct daily review of security reports to identify incidents that may result in a general liability claim against the property or the filing of a workers compensation claim.
  • Follow up requires investigation, securing information, documentation and witness information and implementing tactics to resolve matters on site in a speedy manner.
  • Prepare and perform risk assessment plans for large scale events.
  • Be available at all hours in the event of an emergency at any of the locations.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, State, Local and Federal regulations.
  • Develop & implement risk management & safety plans and strategies for the construction project.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits on the job sites.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor compliance with safety regulations and industry standards (i.e. NV State OSHA).
  • Provide training and guidance to site personnel on risk management practices.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with project managers, general contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure risk management practices are integrated into all phases of construction.
  • Prepare and present risk management reports to senior management.


Qualifications:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Professional certification in risk management (e.g. CRM, ARM, CRIS) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management within the Gaming/Entertainment, Hospitality, Real Estate or Construction industry. If Construction industry, preferably with major renovation experience.
  • Proficiency in risk management & construction software and tools (i.e. Bluebeam, ProCore, Autodesk) is preferred.
  • Experience working with varied shifts.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • High level of judgement and decision-making abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes, safety regulations, and industry standards, including NV State OSHA Plan.
  • Strong knowledge of Risk Management including keeping up with the industry trends.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulation and compliance is necessary.
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms.
  • Ability to multi-task and work well in a fast paced, team-oriented environment
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with attention to quality and detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to prioritize and work on several projects simultaneously.
  • Strong command of software applications, especially Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
