Medical Risk Management Director

Executive Human Resource Service is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Medical Risk Management to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing risk management programs, ensuring patient safety, and promoting regulatory compliance within the healthcare industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to minimize patient harm and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and investigations to identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient safety initiatives.
- Provide expert guidance on risk management best practices and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare providers, payers, and regulatory agencies.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2-5 years of risk management experience in a healthcare setting.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or related field.
- Masters degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
- Risk management certification, such as CPHRM or CPPS, is highly desirable.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Nevada.
- 5-10 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
- Previous experience in healthcare risk management, quality assurance, or patient safety.
- Proven leadership experience in managing teams, healthcare projects, or risk management initiatives.
- Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare laws, including HIPAA, Joint Commission standards, OSHA, and CMS regulations.
Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrates knowledge and ensures compliance with The Joint Commission.
- Demonstrates strong leadership, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrates ability to relate to clinical personnel and medical staff, as well as ability to interact well with the public.
- Must have knowledge of PC and applications.
- Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.
- Thorough knowledge of hospital policies and procedures.
- Application of techniques such as RCA, FMEA, and other quality tools.
