Activity Director/Volunteer Coordinator Summary:The Activities Director's purpose is to provide activity therapy treatment, interaction and socialization to patients in an effort to facilitate optimal physical, emotional, and mental health. Responsibilities may include coming up with craft activities, puzzles, assisting with day to day life skill routines, music therapy, setting up and leading activities, instructing participants, assessing effectiveness, and other logistical duties that help ensure optimal health and socialization outcomes and determining individualized long-term care needs. As Volunteer Coordinator you will be responsible for the volunteer program at CCMC. This will include but is not limited to scheduling volunteers to work in the front lobby who greet patients and visitors. As new volunteers are needed, the volunteer coordinator will assist with the interviewing, selection, and orientation process. This combined position is part-time, working approximately 20 hours a week. Activities Director Duties: Work with the Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Nursing departments, to develop and perform therapeutic recreational and rehabilitative activities Develop monthly calendar of activities; schedule, pre-plan and implement based on facility activity schedule and socialization of patients Photograph and submit activity results for social media pages Plan and organize "special" activities for patients; including assisting with Marketing events Cultivate relationships with referral sources in an effort to generate sponsorships/donations for planned activities Coordinate volunteers from a variety of organizations and local groups to work with patients Prepare special snacks with residents Set-up and clean-up after all activities Complete required logs/charting/reporting in a timely manner Assist patients with activities for daily living Assist other departments with patients as needed and required. Perform concierge duties as directedVolunteer Coordinator Duties: Assist in interviewing, selection, and orientation process Scheduling and training of front lobby volunteers Facilitate bi-annual Volunteer meetings Organize annual Volunteer recognition eventQualifications: CPR certified, or the ability to complete CPR certification within 120 days of hire Successful completion of Activity Director course(s), or the ability to complete within the first 6-12 months of employment Candidate must be reliable, enthusiastic, and cheerful Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Able to work with patients of all ages but largely seniors Ability to lead facilitated group activities Basic office and computer skills Highly organized and able to maintain confidentiality Team-oriented mindset Prior Activities experience preferredPost offer drug screen, background check, and physical exam are required.
