Mechanical Engineer (Design/Analysis) Onsite (Hybrid) Contract The Mechanical Engineer will support the design team and offer support in the design of Vacuum Vessel Antenna Array components by applying multi-discipline technical and engineering skills and communicating to various internal groups and to potential vendors. This team member will: Support design leads with the design of systems Work with the design team to create part numbers and populate with relevant quality and technical information Work with design engineering and procurement to expedite communication on critical procurements Communicate with R&D, manufacturing, and materials team to gather information on quantities required, manufacturability of vendor parts, and material specifications The ideal candidate will have most, if not all, of these requirements: BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or another relevant field At least 2 years of post-grad engineering design and analysis experience Produce design concepts and make changes to drawings to support manufacturability using NX (or Solidworks) Perform structural analysis of large steel and other metal structural and support systems as well as magnets, including conductors, insulation, joints, supports, fluid manifolds, insulator breaks, and inform design decisions using COMSOL and ANSYS Develop design notes, technical specifications, assembly procedures and documentation necessary to manufacture and install the and their embedded and supporting systems
