The Center Orthopedic & Neurosurgical Care is looking for a Supervisor to oversee our orthopedic medical assistants and join our outstanding team of employees. Requirements

  • Oversee and prioritize the daily work load of staff at multiple clinic locations including assignments, workflow, and problem-solving.
  • Create and manage weekly staff schedules, including coverage for vacation and sick days.
  • Manage all phases of effective and timely staff development including performance management, coaching, documentation and corrective action.
  • Address patient and provider issues that may include appropriate behavior, complaints and care concerns, following up as needed in collaboration with the Clinic Manager.
  • Recommend necessary clinical purchases and supply maintenance.
  • Develop and implement processes to maximize efficiencies in the clinical area.
  • Participate in hiring process by screening applicants, conducting interviews and making new hire recommendations.
  • Provide coverage/assistance for other clinic areas as needed or when short staffed.
  • Create and maintain accurate staff training materials for both new and existing employees.
  • Foster teamwork among staff and physicians to ensure the optimum patient experience and seamless quality care.
  • Work with management to create a safe working environment that engages employees and supports quality work.
  • Cultivates and champions a positive, collaborative, inclusive organizational culture.
  • Conducts regular stand-up team meetings
  • On-boards, orients and trains new staff.
  • Assists with development and implementation of new and existing procedures and guidelines.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise people in setting goals, giving appropriate support, evaluating and holding employees accountable while maintaining high morale and productivity.
  • Demonstrated communication, leadership and team building skills.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and effective communication skills that promote cooperation and teamwork.
  • Ability to work with credibility and effectiveness with staff, administration and across departments.
  • Ability to withstand varying job pressures and organize and prioritize related tasks.
  • Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision, exercising independent judgment within stated guidelines.
  • Intermediate to advanced PC-based computer skills.
  • Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.
SKILLS & EDUCATION:
  • CMA certification required or ability to sit for test within 30 days of hire
  • Minimum of 3+ years' experience in health care setting.
  • Experience in electronic scheduling and EMR required.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite and ability to learn new applications
  • CPR and first aid certification required, or ability to obtain within 90 days.
