We are seeking a Professional Engineer (PE) with a structural engineering background, to provide engineering services to support construction operations.You will have the opportunity to work as a critical team member in a small group of highly experienced structural engineers.You will coordinate directly with construction field engineers and superintendents to develop practical solutions to very complex issues. You will have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of materials and construction techniques across the entire United States. This is a unique structural engineering position that requires creativity and motivation. This position is located in the Orlando design office. Occasional travel will be necessary to visit projects.

Position Summary

  • Manage all structural/segment design work to include foundations, elevated formwork cycles, cranes, layout and controls, steel, reinforced concrete, timber, and excavation shoring.
  • Prepare technical reports and submittal packages related to specific design issues related to each project.
  • Manage all design activities associated with the assigned project, including constructability reviews, developing RFI's, and coordinating with the field about preferred techniques, sequence, requirements, etc.
  • Mentor, develop and supervise junior engineers.
  • Lead and participate in technical meetings with field personnel and clients.
  • Capable of submittal and shop drawing review process (Such as: rebar, tendons, stud-rails, concrete etc.). Verify that all required shop drawings, plans, mix designs, special material approvals, , and other documents necessary for assigned phases of work have been submitted and approved prior to start of the work.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 10+ years' experience within the heavy civil construction industry
  • Registered P.E. in any state
  • Background in Bridges and Structures
  • Proficient with Outlook, Excel and Common Scheduling Programs a plus
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret contract documents including drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and the project schedule.
  • Solid written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with the CEI of the project.
  • Proficiency with industry practices, processes and standards
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering from an ABET Accredited University
  • Master's degree is a plus but not required.
