Lehigh Hanson is seeking a qualified **Loader Operator.** This position is based in Northwest & Southwest Houston.

The Loader Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. The Loader Operator must also maintain all equipment as directed per policies, procedures, and operator manuals.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

* Responsible for the operation of front-end loader to lift and transport bulk materials to and from storage areas, to feed conveyors, hoppers and to load trucks or railcars.

* Verify amount of aggregate in storage bins and fill hoppers to ensure adequate quantity and quality of raw materials is maintained.

* Perform routine maintenance on loaders, such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.

* Participate in making sure the quality and quantity of raw materials meets established standards.

* Ensure assigned established performance indicators are met.

* Work toward improvement of the assigned plant and surrounding area.

* Follow established environmental procedures to ensure that the plant for which he/she is working is in compliance with state, federal, and local regulations and requirements.

* Participate in ongoing minor maintenance and visual evaluations of plant and equipment.

* Work with plant manager, batch person, and other personnel to resolve problems, provide immediate feedback, and may recommend solutions to improve performance.

* May haul cement and/or additives from storage area in bulk or bags.

* Adhere to all Lehigh Hanson and OSHA rules and regulations at all times and wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds.

* Meet or exceed company safety standards.

* Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management.

**Qualifications**

* Be able to read, write, and speak English

* High school diploma preferred

* Bilingual a plus

**Working Conditions**

* Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoors.

* Must wear protective equipment while at the location.

**Physical Requirements**

* Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree.

* Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently. Job involves sitting most of the time, but also involves walking or standing for brief periods of time.

* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipment.

* Must be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to, pushing, turning, and/or pulling of controls.
