Job Title: Human Resources Representative
Summary Applies knowledge of human resources practices to assist in the administration of human resources, EHS and training functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Manage full cycle recruiting for non-exempt and hourly positions to include screening, selection and scheduling interviews for hiring team.
- May attend job fairs and conduct outreach to identify diverse pool of candidates.
- Informs applicants of job duties and responsibilities, compensation and benefits, work schedules and working conditions, promotional opportunities, and other related information.
- Maintain recruiting and open position log.
- Process and schedule pre-employment screening (background check, drug screen and physical)
- Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
- Perform onboarding tasks, including administration of the Form I-9.
- Help maintain reports for recruiting and hiring activities.
- Enter employee transactions such as new hires/terminations, transfers, performance review rates, promotions, W4 changes, personal information changes, insurance changes, etc. into HR database
- Act as a liaison between employees and representatives of companies managing the benefits programs.
- Handle a variety of employee inquiries (verification of employment, benefit questions, complaints, etc).
- Assist in administering the uniform program.
- Assist the EHS Manager with various administrative tasks, including filing worker's compensation claims, maintaining records, monitoring supplies of safety stock, etc.
- Support HR department with group activities and backup for tasks.
Five or more years of progressive human resources experience in areas that include recruiting and hiring, benefits administration, and employee relations.
Sound foundation in employment law and human resources best practices.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, HRIS and ATS software. Excellent spreadsheet skills preferred.
Able to function well as part of a team or work independently as needed.
Excellent employee relation skills with both hourly staff and management.
Working Environment
Mostly office environment, but must be able to spend time on production floor with appropriate PPE and able to walk between three buildings.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts; hazards common to industrial settings; chemicals, vibration, and loud noises.
- Safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, and bump caps for this position must be worn on the production floor. Other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.
- Ability to lift equipment up to 10lbs occasionally.
- Sedentary with some walking.
- Able to spend hours at a time using a keyboard, mouse and monitor.
- Use hand and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.
- Able to prioritize many tasks throughout the day.
