Description

The Design Engineer has responsibility to support the Lead Product Engineer from concept phase to start of production. The main product focus is Door Modules and Window Regulators and includes support in the following areas: creation of new and/or revising existing concepts with consideration given to system integration, packaging environments and tooling requirements; interfacing with internal teams, suppliers and customers; and supporting purchasing, sales, testing and production.
  • Analyze and understand customer technical specifications, develop conformity matrix.
  • Engage in regular communication with Global Door Systems Engineering teams, particularly Door Systems Engineering team at ITC Bangalore, India.
  • Develop and maintain EBOM's.
  • Lead prototype Window Regulator builds.
  • Support remote Product Engineers through Test and Validation phase, assist analyze results and developing solutions to any challenges.
  • Utilize CATIA and NX CAD applications to review designs, develop concepts and perform design studies.
  • Support business pursuit activities etc.
  • Consider and incorporate Engineering and Manufacturing criteria in new concepts and product changes.
  • Ensure consistent application of bookshelf solutions aligned with Centers of Expertise product strategies.
  • Follow Inteva PDP (Product Development Process) and support LPE in meeting gate and design review requirements.
Position Requirements
  • Ability in the use of CAD applications (NX and/or Catia V5).
  • Associate of Applied Science - Product Design / CAD / Vehicle Engineering.
  • Knowledge of GD&T and its application to components and assemblies.
  • Ability to develop Engineering Bill of Materials.
  • Strong communication skill for customer and supplier interaction.
  • Solid written communication skills.
  • Willingness for some domestic and international travel.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
  • Familiarity with PLEX and Teamcenter.
