About the Role Ouro is currently seeking a dedicated Observability Response and Reliability Engineer to play a pivotal role in supporting diverse aspects of our processing environment. The individual in this position will be tasked with the creation and maintenance of automated processes essential for deploying, monitoring, and resolving events within our software platform. A significant part of the role involves performing scoping, architecting, and implementing tasks independently, with minimal guidance. The candidate is expected to either adhere to or establish best practices in task implementation, emphasizing the importance of following Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles. Additionally, this role requires the ability to assist in troubleshooting production issues, necessitating effective collaboration with various internal and external departments. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in automated process management, skilled in independent task handling, and experienced in applying SRE principles and best practices in a dynamic software environment. Responsibilities Review, create, complete, or delegate infrastructure-as-code and configuration management tasks within the team, encompassing both internal and external assignments.

Act as a subject matter expert in the NetSpend processing environment, facilitating effective interaction with internal and external team members.

Oversee software component installations and deployments, ensuring robust monitoring in a 24/7 Production Environment. Utilize automation tools such as Puppet, Ansible, or Terraform.

Demonstrate expertise in administering both Linux and Windows operating systems.

Develop and maintain scripts in various languages, including Shell, Perl, Python, and Ruby.

Analyze the current application stack and system infrastructure to recommend and implement deployment enhancements.

Design and maintain Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like GitLab or Jenkins.

Develop and manage deployment strategies such as A/B testing, blue/green deployments, and canary releases, focusing on minimizing impact and identifying issues promptly.

Create and maintain comprehensive documentation covering deployment and monitoring protocols in the Ouro processing environment.

Requirements Proficient with source control technologies like Git and Subversion.

Experienced in using tools such as Puppet, Ansible, or Chef.

Committed to following strict procedural guidelines for application deployments and operating system patching.

Participate in a 24/7 on-call support rotation for critical systems, including 2nd level support responsibilities.

Maintain high standards of precision and quality in all procedural tasks.

Guide daily team activities and provide mentorship as needed.

Professionally engage in incident response, offering assistance and direction effectively.

Adhere strictly to NetSpend procedures for data management.

Possess a foundational understanding of processing and health checks in complex technological environments.

Follow precise instructions for system changes and testing.

Display a commitment to continual learning and improvement in procedural operations.
