Accounting Tech III

Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to launch your financial career in the corporate finance department of one of the fastest growing life insurance companies in the country. National Life Group currently has an opening for an Accounting Technician to join a team that is fundamental to the accounting and payables function of the organization. This position offers a chance to gain broad accounting, finance, and industry experience in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review disbursements to vendors, tax authorities, and employees.
  • Participation in financial close process by calculating monthly accounting entries as it relates to accruals, fixed assets, and lease accounting.
  • Track and record intercompany transactions.
  • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Assist in quarterly reviews, control testing, and assist with internal and external auditors.
  • Provide support to business areas researching accounting questions.
  • Perform ad hoc duties as required.
  • Help drive efficiencies and improve process.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience
  • Must have a proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience with Concur, Blackline, and Lawson a plus, but not required
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to work independently and within time constraints and reporting deadlines
  • Background checks are required for all employees

The base compensation range represents the low and high end of the range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to qualifications, skills, competencies, location, and experience. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees.

Other rewards may include an annual bonus, quarterly bonuses, commissions, and other long-term incentive compensation, depending on the position. National Life offers a competitive total rewards package which includes: a 401(k) retirement plan match; medical, dental, and vision insurance; a company funded wellness account for director and below employees; 10 paid holidays; a generous paid time off plan (22 days of combined time-off for non-exempt employees and exempt employees have discretion in managing their time, including scheduling time off in the normal course of business, but in no event will exempt employees receive less sick time than required by state or local law); 6 weeks of paid parental leave; and 6 weeks of paid family leave after a year of full-time employment.
