Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop knowledge of assigned commodities (technical, how and where used, historical order data, etc.). Research opportunities for improvement of any 3rd party direct or indirect spend as needed by interfacing with internal personnel and potential vendors. Lead projects to improve our spend position on the opportunities that have the most potential. Help maintain key procurement processes – track supplier price movement, new vendor approvals, vendor certifications, KPI generation and tracking, vendor scorecards, supplier Certification support, audit support and lead identified needed improvements. Lead role in the SIM5 (Short Interval Management) process for procurement, tracking key identified factors and developing/leading plans for improvement through cross-functional teams. Work with operations, inventory manager, and commercial teams to help get new vendors / materials evaluated and approved for supply. Develop value analysis effort at all levels of spend management. Identify opportunities and lead the process to drive toward lower total cost of ownership (TCO) by also looking at improved non-price related factors. Work on special local, regional, or global procurement projects in either a support or lead role. Learn the purchase order process in the ERP system and act as backup for the buyers as required. Key result areas

Improve vendor / market data information to make sound sourcing decisions. Goods and services that are purchased from vendors which offer the best financial return for the company – lowest cost, best payment terms, excellent service, on time delivery, very good performance. Achieve goals and objectives in areas such as data generation / analysis, vendor optimization, and SIM5 leadership on identified tasks.

Skills and Qualifications:

BA or BS in Business, IT or equivalent experience in related field, required APICS or IMS Certification (CPSM, etc) 2 years professional experience in related business area 5 years purchasing experience in Industrial company 3 years experience with the purchasing or supply chain function in industrial company, required Excellent skills with MS Office suite, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint, required Experience in ERP systems. required Good written and verbal communication skill, including negotiation skills Knowledge of plant MRO parts and plant processes We offer a career in a recession proof industry Competitive Compensation Ongoing training and career advancement Closed every weekend to spend time with family and friends Paid time off and paid holidays.
