This individual interacts with all aspects of the organization to ensure that we deliver quality forklift trucks. Join our team as we take forklift design to the next level.Responsibilities:Proven capability in software test practicesVehicle Electrical SystemsDevelop system and component level requirements from truck level requirementsSupport development testing to ensure design robustness to requirements.Develop and execute test plans (DVP&R, validation, etc.) for complete vehicle, system, and componentsProven capability in selecting and sizing motorsProven capability in software test practicesProven capability in selecting and sizing motorsDevelop, design, release, test and follow up development activities to ensure that the engineering outputs meet the quality, reliability, performance, and cost expectations of the customer, for the following systems:Li-Ion BatteriesCollaborate and provide support to the Manufacturing, Sourcing, Marketing, and Aftermarket groups engaged in the project.Analyze data and communicate test results both verbally and through written reportsProvide product/process specification documents, detailed drawings, test engineering reports, sales and product information data and test plansLow voltage DC troubleshooting experienceLow voltage DC troubleshooting experienceFor the Engineer I: Formal education with a minimum BS in Electrical Engineering. Basic knowledge/skill in CAD (Siemens NX preferred)Design components. Create product documentation - such as CAE (computer aided engineering), detail drawings, engineering lists, summary reports, test plans and software coding - to support release of Change Orders describing component design revisions.For the Engineer II: Formal education with a minimum BS in Electrical Engineering. Minimum 1 year industry experience Specialized knowledge/skill in drafting practices, CAD (Siemens NX preferred), engineering analysis and design layoutsBasic knowledge/skill in electrical schematic design (Zuken E3 preferred)Design/test components. Create product design documentation - such as CAE (computer aided engineering), 3-d models, detail drawings, engineering lists, reports, test plans and software coding - to support release of Change Orders describing component design revisions.Translate truck-level and system-level requirements to component design/test requirements.Support/execute development testing to ensure design robustness to requirements.Concept development for system design.For the Engineer III: Knowledge/skill in electrical schematic design (Zuken E3 preferred)Formal education with a minimum BS in Electrical Engineering. Minimum 3 years industry experienceSpecialized knowledge/skill in drafting practices, CAD (Siemens NX preferred), engineering analysis and design layoutsKnowledge/skill in 3D Wire Harness DesignSpecialized knowledge/skill in vehicle/automotive technologyDesign components. Minimum 5 years industry experienceSpecialized knowledge/skill in drafting practices, CAD (Siemens NX preferred), engineering analysis and design layoutsKnowledge/skill in 3D Wire Harness DesignSpecialized knowledge/skill in electrical schematic design (Zuken E3 preferred)Specialized knowledge/skill in vehicle/automotive technologyThorough understanding of the design and development process from requirements generation to creating and executing test plans for electrical control systemsProven experience of the concept development stageUnderstanding of the V&V processSupport the engineering hardware and software design of electrical controls on a forklift truckBasic knowledge of troubleshooting instrumentationProven experience with CAN Open protocolProven capability to define and write requirements in a requirements database (Polarion exp is a plus)Proven capability in a fast-paced electrical hardware design environment.Experience with relays and relay selection and their operation in high shock environmentsWorking knowledge on Simulink a plusCreate product design documentation - detail drawings, engineering lists, reports, test plans and software object code - to support release of Change Orders describing component design revisions.Translate truck-level and system-level requirements to component requirements.Plan and support development testing to ensure design meets requirements.Lithium-Ion and Fuel Cell experience a plusCollaborate with other engineers/technicians.The Successful Engineer (I, II, III, or IV) Will Meet the Following Qualifications:Innovative thinking, troubleshooting and problem solving.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Attention to Quality: Follow established procedures and be attentive to details to ensure accuracy in design and documentation.Decision Making: Exhibit good judgment and a realistic understanding of issues; demonstrate ability to take decisive actions to develop product.Systematic Problem solving: Demonstrate ability to apply basic principles and methods to resolve product issues.Teamwork and Flexibility: Function well in a team environment by working well with other employees and other departments.
