Job Description:

Summary

The position is responsible for the financial planning process, including forecasting, revenue projections and personnel expense analysis. Position is also responsible for the preparation of information and materials presented by CFO and Treasurer to the board, lenders, and rating agencies. This position will assist in administering cost and personnel spending rationalization models and for creating new cost measurement, staffing efficiency ratios and rationalizing our review process and models for operating teams and other functions. Additional responsibilities include serving as a backup to payroll, creating and analyzing human capital reports and reconciling all related payroll accounts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Planning and Analysis

Coordinate and execute the annual financial plan. Work directly with selected leaders across operational areas and functions to determine revenue goals for every activity and product. Work with managers who have a department budget to evaluate historical spending and plan and justify future expenditures. Serve as a finance business partner to certain Vice Presidents to evaluate their financial performance by developing tools and reports tailored to their business unit. Collaborate with CFO and Senior Manager FPA using “bottom-up” revenue and expense plans to complete a companywide consolidated Financial Plan. Participate in the completion of the mid-year forecast which is used to validate or adjust spending and investment plans for the year. Monitor, analyze and report on monthly financial performance compared with plan and forecast to identify changes and opportunities that result from better or lower performance. Work closely with the Finance group to support the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close process to ensure timely reporting and analysis. Prepare financial reporting materials for the company’s Board and executive management and provide financial analysis for other stakeholders. Enhance and develop product-line reporting and new products to ensure visibility of unit drivers and accurately capture revenue and expense components. Assist Product Management to understand, analyze, and devise actions to influence product performance reflected in product-line reports. Maintain the Transaction Cost Model (internal transfer pricing) and update as needed to incorporate requirements from CEO and CFO. Results of this model are used to populate the client pricing tool. Other duties as assigned.

Payroll and HR business partner

Serve as subject matter expert on financial and personnel cost analysis providing support and consulting to internal clients (Employees and HR). Support planning and analysis on expenditures using Workday. Analyze ambiguous payroll and personnel cost issues and suggest process improvements and financial answers. Serve as a payroll backup and oversee payroll function for 700+ employees. Break down complex personnel information from different staffing models, including but not limited to employees, outsourced employees, temps, and overtime and communicate results and analysis effectively. Coordinate payroll activities with Human Resources to ensure that HR has appropriate information to address employee questions. Ensure benefits activity is properly reflected in employee payment statements. Create personnel expense reporting and analyze human capital efficiency. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES:

Demonstrated proficiency and experience with forecasting / planning / budgeting. Excellent analytical skills and ability to see and tell the story in the numbers. Strong communication skills and ability to interface effectively with all levels of employees from President and officers to staff accountants. Deadline focused and ability to multi-task and deliver on multiple projects concurrently. Exceptional organization skills, strong work ethic, results focused and quick learner. Ability to deepen technical understanding of payroll processing through exposure and research. Proficient knowledge of payroll, annual W-2 process, and ability to identify unusual and non-recurring employee compensation activity. Ability to deal with highly confidential and sensitive information, including compensation and company financial information. Demonstrated ability to offer different points of views and problem solve. Ability to work with employees at all levels in the organization. Ability to work collaboratively with Human resource is crucial. Excellent business writing and presentation skills

Education And Experience

Minimum 5 years’ experience of financial analysis experience Strong payroll and Workday experience. Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting Advanced level proficiency with Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint MBA is a plus.
