Overview:
The Manager, Warehousing and Logistics position holds front-line responsibility for the safety, performance and motivation of personnel involved with transportation and outbound warehouse operations for the Shrewsbury Distribution Center site. Through role-model leadership this individual is also responsible to identify and drive continuous improvement activities in those areas. Provide role-model leadership in driving change to achieve continuous improvement through Lean best practices in Warehousing and Material Flow.

The role serves as a point of escalation for Customer, Supplier and/or Manufacturing supply issues. Balance labor resources across distribution operations as necessary to assure the overall success of the Department. Support and contribute to continuous improvement activities for service level performance.

Responsibilities:
Oversight and direction of distribution operations activities.
Work with cross-functional departments within the operations group and corporate office as it relates to the distribution center operations.
Accountable to establish and/or ensure adherence to company practices, processes, procedures, and policies.
Responsible for accurate record keeping and timely reporting of data as required, such as distribution center scorecards, productivity, and metrics reporting.
Establish and/or maintain expected service metrics to customers such as on-time delivery, selection and inventory accuracy, cost per case, product damage, and other reporting metrics as required.
Ensure facility compliance with legal regulations and laws (i.e., OSHA, EPA, & DOT), as well as Company policy, procedures, and guidelines
Evaluate business operations and technology for improvement opportunities; recommend and implement approved changes to processes and/or technology.
Responsible for department management including staffing, training, performance management and career development of associates, and developing and monitoring department goals. Develop and monitor department budget as required
Maintain current knowledge of legal regulations, industry trends and best practices within Distribution Center operations; make recommendations to improve current processes and to ensure company legal compliance.

Qualifications:
6+ years experience in a Warehousing, Distribution environment of instruments and consumables
Warehouse management using SAP (preferred) or other Warehouse Management Software
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organization, prioritization, decision-making, problem solving and conflict management skills.
Strong leadership abilities with capability to work in a hands-on environment. Strong strategic planning and business acumen skills
Experience working across business units, and ability to leverage resources to accomplish company goals
Strong knowledge of distribution center operations; knowledge of warehouse management systems.
Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
