Involves the catering of events and cooking for patients, cafe, and catered functions at the hospital. The majority of the job duties will encompass catering. Must have the ability to work independently and closely with others, acts as an active member of a team which is responsibly for efficient workmanship within the department. Creativity, cooking skills, cold food preparation, merchandising of food and supplies are necessary. Must have the ability to meet with and discuss menu options and pricing with internal and external customers; including sales representatives, nurses, physicians. and senior management. Responsible for the sanitation of all areas - Crouse Hospital, Marley Education building, kitchens, and rooms where catering is set up. Will be required to work varying hours to adequately meet the staff and service needs of the department. Discusses planned events with supervisors, contributes to development of catering menu and pricing, and maintains good public relations and communication. May offer suggestions on proposed increased marketing and growth of catering services. Performance of other duties as necessary may be required. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent, with successful completion of one full year of technical school training (food production, quantity foods) and one year of work experience in institutional quantity food preparation or two years successful completion technical school training or two years of institutional quantity food preparation work experience is required. Must attend and pass requirements for ServSafe within 6 months of hire.
